I'm actually the owner of a different OneX product: the OneX Netbook 5, a 10" mini laptop. It's actually fantastic; it has insane specs for a 10" machine and it's great for meetings and quick on the go use. So yeah, I'm also biased about OneX. I think they make surprisingly good products.

Very much looking forward to the next generation of this thing. Possibly with some Strix Point innards, and a better controller. But I'm watching this one closely. Very cool idea. I miss the "netbook" size/style. This is a great size, I wouldn't want anymore.

im a pocket guy so i dont usually like the big bulky stuff like the steam deck. but if your guna go big might as well go all out! this looks cool but seems a little awkward to hold. maybe if the controllers were positioned lower and the screen could tilt it would look more comfortable to hold and neither of those d pads will be accurate but i still admire the ingenuity of this beast

The mini version is the better choice. Smaller screen which means when you need to lower the resolution for games the image will look slighrly better.

I have their 4800u Handheld. It's great though very underpowered these days. When I got it the big players weren't available in my country. Now they are I'd likely pass on these, despite how good they are for the simple reason if anything goes wrong good luck dealing with China whereas the Ally X I'm getting, I can just return it to the shop I bought it from.

So...black and orange M&M's are your kryptonite, eh? 🙃 I honestly don't like tablet style gaming handhelds. Pretty awkward to hold for long and pretty hard to travel with in my experience. They do usually have decent battery life so they have that going for them, but that's really it for me. That screen IS gorgeous though. As always fantastic review Mr. Dweeb.

An 11 inch screen for gaming is nice… but now we can have a 130 inch screen with AR glasses. So it’s still Steam Deck for me.

Forgive me father, for I have biased. There should be a support group for reviewers, biased synonymous! That could be a great thing! The device is entering the "just pick a laptop" territory in my opinion. It's just too big to be comfortable. That said, I've always been against 12" tablets, and the market didn't really agree with me.

Looks like we're not there yet, need at least those 60fps for a smooth experience while not running everything at low. If we ever get there, games get more demanding, APUs advance a bit cycle. Love the screen tho definitely something I would buy if it was more powerful as it's tablet, laptop everything, the small screens of deck or switch are just not for me it's too small. Great review

Not to mention battery life, even if we use low settings and 30w TDP to finally achieve 60fps in most demanding games, the battery won't last much more than 1 hour... Either we'll need some kind of revolutionary efficiency breakthrough on those chips or some new kind of battery technology. I've got a ROG Ally and won't even consider playing something for more than 30 minutes without a socket by my side, it's really that bad. I wish they somehow made it so that we could change batteries on the go instead of always having to rely on a freaking cable

For me it's all about the aesthetics. And aesthetically, I hate the way this device looks. The screen just sticks out so much from those controller handles. I cannot have a device that does something with that. Same reason why I hated the PlayStation portal. Like my devices to all be at relatively the same size, to look like they all come together in design, like the Nintendo switch or RG35XXH, hell even the Lenovo legion go. This device just looks like they're splicing some controllers into a tablet. This device just wouldn't even be in consideration for me.
