Used the 120 for a few months now, definitely works great for radiator. Ran 2 intakes and 3 exhaust with these fans, capped the intake at 2700RPM to limit the noise. Works great if you have custom curve set up, for the price, definitely a bargain.

At $30 (3pack), I cant complain about the sound and yes. this airplane propeller can move lot of air but hey, its $10 each

7:51 if it's not a bearing noise, I bet it's because the tips of the fan act like they're outside the velocity stack.

Will you perhaps be making a comparison of 80mm fans in the future? I know it's not as common as 120/140mm but for smol form factors they're usually the go to, especially like those HP/Dell office stations. IceBerg Thermal apparently has two of these, one with dual ball bearing that goes up to 3k RPM and another with fdb that goes to 2k RPM, a comparison between those against the previous usual go to like Arctic or Noctua would be interesting

I have the IceGale Xtra 80mm DBB, it moves air at a very good rate. Never tried other 80mms though.

I have 3 140mm version but i dont like the cables are to short compare to others fans you need and extender or a fan hub to connect them

30cm is usually a good beginning, but everything beyond 40 is gold when building

Really like those fans, especialy for their price to performance and quality as well, like, at a place i live, i can buy 3-Fan pack for ~38$ , there is like nothing even closer to them in similar specifications. Also look up some thermaltake cases, they have a few in turquoise color.

What about that annoying noise though? No matter the performance, I don't think I could tolerate it. Or maybe it's different and not that bothersome in person, IDK.
@casinojka

@@bgtubber while they are in a case i pretty much don't hear hear it. My main rig ain't even close to definition of a "silent", but in comparison with 5k rpm GT's they are ain't that loud

@@casinojka You are a mad lad! I run my Arctic P12 fans (2 for CPU tower and 4 for case) between 700 and 1500 RPM. I think anything above 1500 RPM is "loud" because at that level I start noticing my fans. I would go mad if I had to listen to anything above 2000 RPM or 40+ decibels on a daily basis. Something for everyone, I guess. :D

Wow, that’s even less expensive than here. Even if they aren’t really meant for the average build, it’s tempting to get them for cheap and just throttle them down a lot

Isn't that the double ball bearing noise? Had an arctic co fan with double ball bearings and it also made that kinda sound.

My p12 max has it the same and its DBB as well. It needs really low speed below 700 I think to not hear it. Or really high to drown it. Not ideal.
@STSYT

Possible, I’ll try to find out more in a week or so, but for now, it just doesn’t appear to me like the same sound. Recording, encoding, and playing it off may alter the sound a bit, but for me, it seems like something else

@STSYT
@STSYT Жыл бұрын
Wtf, no you’re not blind. All our fan numbers are in one giant excel. There is the case that 2 fans are 100% identical, so one line will hide the other one, which has never been the case from start to finish. The other scenario that we’ve encountered in the last months is that Excel is starting to break down. Since the list became ridiculously long, we have more and more issues with lines disappearing. Usually I catch that during editing and restart excel to export everything again, but I must have missed it this time

If you will notice that the "slapping" noise does not match the speed or rpm of the blades. It instead coincides directly with the speed of the or rotation of the bearing. Not trying to start or fuel a debate but that sound is coming from the bearings.
@STSYT
@STSYT Жыл бұрын
I’ll look more into it once I’m back, but the noise doesn’t sound like bearing to me, bearing usually does more of a grinding noise, this is different. I could still be wrong of course

What's the point in handicapping the Phanteks T30 to only 2000 RPM out of it's 3000 in the chart at 5:40? Regardless of noise, it makes it look like the Phanteks' ultimate cooling performance is terrible and somehow 5-10 degrees hotter than almost all the other fans when, in fact, it's almost certainly the coolest orat least right up there with the coolest.

I bought the 140 fans a while ago, with the recent "drama" around Igor's lab I was curious if there were any reviews of this fan since then! They can be a little loud, but they sit in my front panel and move a lot of air through what is essentially very restrictive intake.
