500 miles per day with 12-13 hour shifts are very common in this industry. Almost been in it for 2 years and I think I'm reaching the point where 34 hour reset is not enough time off.. More to come, Enjoy.

I enjoy these updates as they give me insight as to what OTR would be like. My brother has his Class A here in Mass doing trash he works ~60hrs a week but is home on weekends. I think the drivers union is $28+hr.

Otr is fun at first, but it gets old.. Sounds like a good gig he has and he probably makes more money than otr plus he's home 48 hours.

OTR trucking gives you no life whatsoever, regional is good money with a couple days home per week. That should be your best bet until you figure out what you wanna do thereafter. I did otr and despised it soo much. Now local and the pay stinks compared to what I used to make and I'm still working 9,10,11hrs a day. Trucking ain't worth it anymore like it used to be

I agree. I'm basically regional/dedicated and I'm home for 34 hours/week. I hate it. And to be honest, the pay is not good, thought it was at first.. I'm working on a plan now, so probs few more months of this.. I won't go local, i think that's a scam too. Drive 300-500 miles per day, 11 hr shifts, go home, yes, but to sleep and then back at truck again 10 hrs later...

@TheGerbsteve yea local is not even close to being worth it cause they run you ragged 9,10,11 hrs a day for crappy pay per hr. Unless u have all endorsements and even then it's still too many hrs for only a couple more bucks per hr than without it. This yr hopefully I'm done with trucking as well. I'll still hold onto my CDL for another 10 yrs just incase I need to as a last resort. But I want out of it entirely

@@TheGerbsteve yeah, started a new one pay per hrs OT after 40 3 days off weekly im basically making the same ammount in money having 3 days off (Thu,Fri & Sat)

cant wait to start with roehl. I quit smoking weed in mid December after bein a daily user all day everyday for 12 years. just gotta make the 90 day mark so i can pass that hair follicle test but im still goin strong. CBD took away all the cravings. I still get the weird dreams but im passed the messed up stomach and cant sleep part. Cant wait to start trucking i traveled for satellite work for years so im used to it. Gonna make the big bucks OTR once the contract is up and the FA5 is gonna get a turbo kit! I appreciate the videos bro, we all have our ups and downs its good to see it from your perspective.

I’m not starting trucking but I did quit smoking weed in November and no regrets whatsoever feeling the best I have my whole life feels like I was reborn again good luck to your future brother and stay strong and sober🙌

Proud that you quit smoking. There is no bad in it, but it can definitely be distracting and cost a lot. You can make the money out here, just get all the experience that you can. Roehl has great training, i'll say that. More vids coming for you soon

I do miss smoking sometimes, but only on occasions. Weed and alcohol can fog your brain and be a huge distraction if used frequently.

I’m going to the gycdl program at Roehl soon also. I quit smoking in January after being a heavy daily user for YEARS. I’m still having some bad and messed up dreams but it’s getting better slowly. I had no idea that quitting smoking weed would give me bad dreams. I miss smoking to relax but it’s all for the better in the end, right?

yea it was a thought for me but then I seen how much your away on the road and the hours.. so i became a electrician 40hours a week rehabbing and maintaining Chicago subway trains at $120. a year => been there going on 18years IBEW local 134. right now trades are in need of bodies .. just a suggestion

Even if you're home weekly, the 34 hour is not enough time off. I've tried asking for more time and changing fleets, but had no success. Sounds like you have a good gig and make great $$$. Stay with it
