Dear Rideshare Drivers, It has become clear that rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft are using unfair practices in their algorithms and taking advantage of drivers who are unaware of Uber and Lyft deceptions. That's why I'm writing this letter to demand change. So please read to the end. Uber and Lyft invest in politicians, so we the people let’s play politics. Yes, we are independent contractors but we also have rights. Here are the guidelines for the demands: 1. Uber and Lyft must pay drivers a minimum of $1.5 for every mile on every ride. Drivers cover all the expenses and are 100% liable. 2. The rideshare app must clearly display the total amount paid by the passenger and the fare for the driver, including the tip. Any manipulation or errors by Uber or Lyft's algorithm should result in a penalty paid to compensate the driver. Transparency is essential for drivers to understand how they are being compensated and to ensure they are being treated fairly. 3. The government or an independent Third party should be granted access to Uber and Lyft algorithms to ensure they adhere to guidelines. This is necessary to prevent manipulation and ensure that drivers are being paid fairly. How to force these demands into law? 1. Lobbying: Drivers can form a single advocacy group to lobby lawmakers at the local, state, and federal levels to enact laws that mandate the fair compensation and transparency measures outlined. (We must become one voice) 2. Petitions: Petitions can be created to collect signatures from drivers, passengers, and concerned citizens, to show lawmakers that there is widespread support for these measures. 3. Public pressure: Rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft rely on public opinion to stay in business. Drivers can use social media and other platforms to bring attention to these issues and put pressure on these companies to make changes. 4. Legal action: Drivers and passengers can pursue legal action to challenge the practices of rideshare companies and demand fair compensation and transparency. @@busco234you'll get less rides though. Anyone with a lower acceptance rate than 83% will get less ride requests. They pretty much take you offline when it's not busy out and you aren't needed

There should not be a acceptance rating in the first place. You are putting yourself out there to do a job, what you accept is your own business. You are a freelancer supplying everything and uber is already taking a cut. Imagine if they made a freelance contractor have a acceptance rating forcing that worker to take low profit jobs.

Acceptance rate don't count because they intentionally finding trips you deny.

I strongly disagree. The acceptance rating is there as a indicator and level playing field among drivers. If there are X amount of rides, it wouldn't be fair that this monkey gets all the good rides simply because he's denying all the other ones and push those on other drivers. The rating is there to deter selfish drivers from cherry picking them.

@@horacevu The driver is not selfish for denying a trip in any way. We are putting ourselves out there with our own vehicles,internet capable devices, delivery bags, and approaching all types of neighorhoods ( even projects/slums) at all times of the day. I'm not wrong for denying anything I don't want to do, it's my time/energy. The acceptance rating is a dirty trick to keep you taking any fare they throw at you. It shouldn't be there, A taxi driver can give their price and that's it. There is never acceptance a rating forcing them to take a fare or go anywhere they do not want to go. They are free to deny service as they please and we should be allowed the same freedom as well without a negative rating.

It doesn't force you to do anything though... I have a 12% acceptance rate and nobody is forcing me to do anything. I'm just not getting the platinum tier $250 extra every few months. Which is fine because I worked it out and I'd still be losing money, even with the bonus, if I took some of the atrocious orders that pop up in the app. . In other words. The acceptance rate system exists because they want to encourage people to pick up orders they wouldn't through their rewards program. It does NOT exist to punish drivers for enacting their freedom of choice. . There was a time in the past where low acceptance drivers were punished. But that was against the law, so it is no longer happening.

That stupid TRIP RADAR flashed $18.50 on my phone last week so I accepted it. It ended up being 2 deliveries unbeknownst to me ! The first delivery was a 16 MILE TRIP ! It took so long that the second delivery cancelled on me ! When I got to the first pickup restaurant, the food was ICE COLD ! And the idiot behind the counter refused to heat up the order for me ! So I had to deliver ice cold food to the first delivery ! I made about $11.00 for the first delivery minus $5.00 in gas ! Second delivery cancelled so I made nothing for that. Then UBER sends me a warning message about my cancelled delivery and late delivery warning ! Like this was MY FAULT ! THEY SENT ME ON A 16 MILE PICK UP ! WASTE OF MY TIME AND GAS ! And it was a pickup from a franchise restaurant that had a location about 2 miles away from the delivery location ! Yet, they sent me to the same restaurant that was 16 miles away !!!! WHY DO THEY DO THIS SHIT !!!!!!!!? And blame me for the 2nd order cancellation !!!!

Next time, stop at QT or 7-11 and put some heat to that food, NEVER deliver cold food again. I mean, why not, you're already running behind. You could say that the restaurant took forever and their food just got cooked. They'll see that it's hot, give you a 5 stars and maybe a tip.

I've been watching you guys enough lately that I've changed my mindset and I've stopped taking crap rides. I would like to thank you so much for your wisdom! I was a diamond driver with a 92% acceptance rate.... But I got the bonus and I got the Costco membership... I don't need the diamond status anymore lol! The last 3 days I've been only taking trips that are worth it for me and I've been averaging way higher per hour! My acceptance rate has gone down to 60 some percent lol... And the app keeps telling me that I've lost my diamond status and I keep yelling at my phone that I don't care! Haha

My advice take trips that are close to you and that pays at least $1.8 a mile and don't fall for their stupid Quest that pays you 10 dollars for completing 20 trips

That doesn't work. Uber have been sued in the past, most likely ends up as class action lawsuits in which you wait for a long time to get paid peanuts. Uber then pays out those checks and ends up screwing the drivers out the back end via taking bigger cuts from fares. Not a good solution.

50 minutes for $15. Redicioulus garbage. The car cost you $10 an hour. So you make $5 on it. Pure wage theft. Uber is not worth it anymore. You can do the same money with a $20/hr job and one or two day side job in half the time.

What’s frustrating as an Uber driver and a small market like Knoxville Tennessee they never show us what they are going to pay us for a ride. They only show distance direction of travel I mean and how long estimated time of how long the trip is going to take.

They don't drop the price of the fare. I have been watching the fare from the same spot to the same spot through out the day. The best time to take an offer is just before it surges and the worse time is just after the surge. The app starts to multiply the fare as an area gets busy or is expected to get busy. When it hit the maximum multiplication it adds a surge, which gets ignorant drivers to drive like maniacs to the surge area. (Which in my area Uber isnt even showing you how much the surge is anymore.) Then the multiplier goes away and the surge stays for around 5 minutes. By the time you get to the area, Uber already sent the rides to the closes people and they took them. So, you get there the surge and multiplier is gone and you get .50 per mile offers and almost killed a family of 5 trying to get there! STOP racing to surges and stop taking shit offers! Then you wouldn't have to chance tickets, accidents, and possibly injuring other people to make what looks to be an extra $5.00 for a trip, but really is just Uber showing how ignorant people are! Stop "striking" and start turning every trip down that is less than $1.50 a mile. They will have to charge more to the passenger in order to keep their take rate so high. Then customers will either stop using them or start complaining! When my passengers get stuck pating $100 or more for 25 miles, I tell them the only way drivers make money is if they turn the trips down until Uber charges them more and then Uber won't take less! They make the passengers pay more! Before you say, "No, they can't do that. They have upfront pricing." I also ask my passenger's questions to try to understand the "top secret algorithm!" 😂 What Uber does to the passenger is...They give them a price. After sending the offer to the same drivers over and over (lowering your acceptance rate even more for the same offer you already turned down multiple times.) The app then cancels the whole order. The passenger thinks the app is glitching and reorders. The price then MULTIPLES! The app will keep doing this until it finds a driver and Uber takes an even higher take rate, because the app had to work harder to find a driver! Yes, I have too much time on my hands! Maybe Uber should give better offers and I wouldn't have time to sit and figure out how they are screwing passengers and drivers a like!

This is exactly what I've been saying💯 I've been refusing anything less than 1.00 a mile but that's bc apparently drivers, especially new drivers that don't know better yet, accept low rates. If we all stop accepting shitty rates and ignore the fake surges things would have no choice but to change. I've noticed the way the surges are not actually giving us anything extra. We gotta stop accepting bs rides

You do not know what you are talking about my base min fare is $4.28 If I get a $10 surge the ride should be $14.28. It's like $11 so min. Fare is $3 Over 20k rides 9 years all platforms

Uber steals $125 a day from minimum wage. In CA the only want to pay $20 an hour but the car cost you $10 an hour. So you had to make $25 to make $15 minimum wage. So they cut $5 an hour x 12 = $60 a day 4 hours overtime at $7,50 extra = $30 Unpaid to the customer 5 min x 30 trips =$37,50 So $60+30+37,50 = $127 underpaid on minimum wage. Redicioulus

I have a 1% acceptance rate with Uber!. They have been victimising me for 10 of the last 12 months because I will not accept trips that aren’t worth the money!. Their algorithm is designed to victimise drivers with a low acceptance rate!. That’s why I’m leaving them tomorrow, and going back to my old cab company!. Far too many dead miles, and high fuel costs here in the UK to continue working with them!. In 9 months I’ve put 35,000 miles on my odometer, and made very little money, a lot of it has went on fuel costs!. The basic rate here in the UK is £1.00 per mile, about $1.20 per mile US, and that’s before fuel costs are deducted!.

I keep trying to explain to the other drivers that the surge is bullshit! I tried explaining to them that the multiplier pays more. Trips are only worth it if they are multiplied a few times. Then the passenger and the driver are getting screwed because Uber is still taking the same percentage, if not more. But, at least the offer is worth it. As long as drivers keep accepting these .50 - .70 cent offers, Uber will keep sending them. Most don't even have enough common sense to realize the offers are less per mile than the IRS standard write-off per mile. You are losing money. I had a driver tell me, "Ya, but that is good because I didn't owe taxes!" Uber depends on ignorant people!

That’s what I’ve been doing lately lol. Went from making a guaranteed 3-4k last summer to struggling to make 2500 this summer. It’s really obvious, Uber is over saturated right now with new drivers. My acceptance is 6% lol I deny bad trips ALL DAY! let a newbie get bamboozled I’m not falling for it. Actually working on getting out and not looking back. I’ve decided essentially it’s like have a 8hr job if all they’re going to do is figure out how to cap your earnings. Time to move on!!!

This is crazy what uber is doing not only that but the danger we put ourselves in and uber doesn't even know the streets or the hoods we go thru not only that but it's insane that they are charging so much and keep like 80 percent of it I seen a customer pay 60 bucks for a order and I got paid 15 bucks to deliver it not even half of it

NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU HAVE TO KEEP TRACK OF AND PROVE YOUR OWN TRIPS THAT THEY FORCE US TO CANCEL DUE TO BEING CLOSED OR RESTAURANT WONT MAKE THE ORDER ETC. I WAS ACTUALLY TOLD THAT I HAVE RECIEVED TOO MANY CLOSED RESTAURANT AND REFUSALS TO MAKE THE ORDER BECAUSE THE RESTAURANTS ARE ONLY SERVING BREAKFAST AND THE CUSTOMERS ORDERED LUNCH ITEMS ETC. THEY WILL NOT PAY IF YOU CANT PROVIDE THE INFORMATION THAT THEY DELETE FROM YOUR ACCOUNT LIKE THE NAME AND ORDER NUMBER OF THE TRIP AND IF YOU HAVE THAT INFORMATION THEN THEY CLAIM THEY NEED TO KNOW WHAT RESTAURANT IT WAS AND THE EXACT DATE AND TIME EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD YOU CANCEL THE TRIP PROMIING YOUR PAY AND THEN DONT PAY YOU. I EVEN HAVE THE SCREENSHOTS OF AGENTS PROMISING TO HAVE PAID ME FOR ORDERS THEN NEVER PAYING ME AND ALSO REMOVING THE TRIPS OR TELLING ME I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEIR SPECIAL TEAM TO EMAIL ME AT A LATER DATE TO PROCEES MY PAYMENT.....UBER USED TO BE THE BETTER COMPANY AND NOW THEY ARE SO RIDICULOUS THAT DRIVERS LOOK FOWARD TO GETTING SUSPENDED JUST TO FINALLY HAVE A LEGIT EXCUSE TO LEAVE EVEN THOUGH THEY NEED THE MONEY.

Uber's employing and investing in AI. I'm sure there are some real smart ppl at convolutional neural networks that could add a code given on your # of declined rides. You accept the jucy call, but it is constantly given to someone else. Uber ofcourse would never admit to this, but the machines learning from the tiniest and subtle changes incl. the drivers behavior. What feels like a pinch is evolving to the next big squeeze of employing fleets self-driving vehicles. Elon was right about technological unemployment.

The app bases everything off of rating, how long employed, acceptance rate, cancellation rate, etc. 🤘If my stats are better than yours & we're in the same area I will get the job. 🤔The only times I have experienced ridiculous pay is when I started & once when they reset my account. Which revealed they're baiting tactics. 🤑And I took full advantage🤣🤣🤣. Never let your acceptance rate dip below 90 percent.85 is really pushing it.

I was at 0% acceptance rate for Lyft and they deactivated my account for declining their 💩. They said they deactivated my account because of poor rider experience. My rating for 500 rides is at 5.0. Is there a way to fight this deactivation back? They said it was final.

I think you get more leeway if you have a high acceptance rate so not accepting you probably lose leverage and it gets you out of the pool. I don’t have any proof, or anything to support this though just how it feels.
