Biffa, you might want to add a tram stop before the bridge, so even the shops on the far end can be connected by a tram stop. Also for future expansion you might want to use that hub as a centre for the trams in the area, sprawling out from there (a bit like Charleroi's 'metro').

There's a handful of mods (will have to have a play with each in turn to see what they are like) that allow a tram to reverse like they would do in real life rather than having to have a turning circle

Hey Biffa, Love your content. A suggestion on the new hub. If you spin the hub around where it is, so the elevated tracks on the river side could get above the tram roads.

I thought of that too but he's already got a regional rail and a light metro hooked up to the elevated platforms. But the steep slopes at the tunnel portals are giving me OCD!

You should have turned the hub around. That way the tracks on the ground could have gone to the outside and the raises tracks could have connected to other parts of the city

A suggestion for one of the unused train/metro lines to go under the pg tips mountains to the other side. That way you could have the two sides connected without having to go the whole way around the mountains.

I'd hate to be that guy, but I would think it would be better to flip the Railway-Tram-Monorail-Metro Transport Hub around so you can have it pressing against the motorway so you can have more space for growth underneath the raised railway/metro line.

Love it when you get so engrossed in one task that it takes over the entire video. I think this looks superb, you definitely get those overkill transport hubs in real life (I can get from Manchester city centre to Manchester Airport by bus, train, tram, taxi, car, probably some others I've not mentioned...) and often they do cover the same route with multiple modes of transport. Love the bridges over the river too, it feels so much more connected with everything around it, this area was always a bit of a graveyard for transit hub assets before 😁

This new hub is the best commercial for the Road Builder Mod. Got my custom made road for exactly this station within a few minutes. Tram, Bus, Bike, MR. I even replaced the one in the station to have more lanes, as such a station definitely needs more than 1 per site 😅

I’d personally add the Aussie football grounds given your island’s mythical locality with huge ties to New Zealand … it gives off that southern hemisphere vibe, btw I directed my viewers to check out your new updates video as it was extremely good, like all your content, have a really nice day and keep up the awesome work you do

New Tealand being a play on New Zealand, I believe there's Cricket and Aussie Football in the New Cc Pack. It should be a Mega sports complex! If a stadium is placed in another part of the city, do those teams play another? If so there should be staidums scattered all over New Tealand!

Hey Biffa, I really like the look of Bentealey Park, and I have a couple suggestions that could help make it more of a destination. I feel that the hub needs a greater space allowance, as the tracks immediately diving underground at such a steep angle looks a bit off. For potential solutions; if Johnblanchard8288's idea of rotating the hub 180° to put the elevated tracks above the roads isn't to your liking, I believe the tracks could start on the ground with a bit of adjustment. By moving the buildings on the monorail road back a block, they could have their own access road, and the tracks could run alongside the road and ascend or descend at a reasonable rate. Level crossings could likely serve the area sufficiently, especially if there were a method to combine the tracks into the same node (to prevent traffic in between the tracks). Alternatively, could the whole hub be raised in some way to allow an easier ascent for the tracks above the existing (or shorter) buildings? Furthermore, do you have ideas for the area behind Bentealey Park, towards the river? Despite the noise from the nearby airport, I think it could be a decent park, as the trees would provide some sound dampening, and the river would be a very nice backdrop. Additional facilities for dining or recreation would also be benefited by the nearby transit hub and walkable connectivity to the area across the river. I see some (possible) similarities between Bentealey Park and South Bank in Brisbane, Australia, and I think a few extra facilities and some creative planning could make it into a really nice recreation and lifestyle destination. Keep up the great work, Biffa!

The challenge with that mega-hub is figuring out how to route the lines. Elevated, you've got monorail, metro and rail lines to get in each other's way - and at ground level, you've got road, metro and rail to do likewise. They're awesome looking assets, but not easy to actually take advantage of.

Biffa, I love the idea of the two rails in that station being like a museum as a part of the station. That way families can travel to the areas and show their kids how the transportation system works and then do some shopping/eating the rest of the day!

You should look into those tram lines going so slow; otherwise, the trams might be unattractive for the cims to use. Seems to me like a speed restriction - the cars that went along those roads also travelled super slowly.

Biffa, the Bentealey area turned out differently from what I expected but I like it, especially the cute little elevated light metro to the cargo airport. The surface rail and metro don't look exactly quite right though; the tunnel portal slopes to me look way too steep. Maybe you could lengthen the portals until their backs meet the sidewalks of the nearest perpendicular streets? Thanks. Also I'm glad you planted trees right behind the buildings, maybe you could develop that as a park or a nature reserve? You could apply the district name "Bentealey Park" so both the park and the district have the same name. In the US we frequently have city districts and even streets named after their adjacent parks, ex. Central Park West in New York City.

Love it. I've played this game for a year now but always just build city nice at beginning but then I get sloppy and don't want to delete anything to add in things like public transport haha. Going to play tomorrow and will try to keep at it the whole time. Building for the future vs what I've been doing. Good thing is I don't have issues with traffic and make a good amount of money

I love how realistic that shopping area looks in the ped zone. I would like to make a suggestion for the sports fields if you don't mind. Both fields in real life require a lot of parking. You could tunnel the highway that goes by the hub to give you more land and put the football stadium there and put the baseball stadium where you were thinking originally. Putting a toll both on the entrances of the parking lots would give the feel that people need to pay for their parking to get right next to the stadiums to tailgate and what not but the use of trams and monorail would be great for people who park far away to avoid paying for parking. I don't believe that hub is overkill if you turn on "public transportation is free on match days".

You can use spawn points mod to add a second point on the opposite side of the hub so that little path can be used for something. Add a concrete pad to make it look like an official doorway.

You could add one of the unique shopping mall building, I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s massive. That would then give the transport hub more purpose. Love the content as always.

Love the New Tealand redux. Looks good. In the pedestrian area maybe you could take BOB and remove parking spaces from the buildings along the pedestrian roadway. That fixes the odd automobile from driving on the pedestrian road.

Love your videos man ! Spotted a small mistake when you create the "tram roundabout" around the Museum of Modern Art. You converted a 2 way road into your one-way+tram road, might be messing up some traffic on one side of the MAM :)

Hi Biffa! I noticed you used tunnels for the train and metro tracks to go under the two roads to the left of the terminal. What are your thoughts on using that square of roads as a "viewing hole" to see the tracks run underneither. Using quay walls for retaining walls on the inside of that square of roads might have a nice effect! Thanks for creating its always a good morning when there's a new video! Cheers!

Having a sports venue close to an airport isn't necessarily a bad thing. Both are fairly high traffic and noise environments, so they don't really detract from each other that way (neither one minds it). And having aircraft over-flying a sports event isn't an issue. And it keeps the noise/traffic from bothering other venues that object more to them. And because both are heavier traffic areas, sharing the infrastructure to support that makes sense.

Great build again, Biffa - I really love that New Tealand is back and well 🙏🏼☺ I was wondering why you used the small roads into the hub going from 4 Lane road with monorail into two lane monorail road on each side and then into the hub built on a 4 lane road. Is it not more reasonable to just use the 4 lane one all the way? Keep up the great work 😊😊

Hi Biffa. Good job as always with New Tealand. I was wondering, as i noticed in many of your cities ,that you favor many very short metros lines instead of a more realistic bit longer lines .is it related to the game mechanic ,a personnal fav to look at citizens transiting or any other reasons?

This is probably a very small town thing but the next time you have a hub with excessive ground level connections you could always make a train park. Its a little area with an old train that has been gutted and decommissioned for the kids to play on and they can watch the trains go by on the other tracks.

Definitely need a cricket stadium in here given it's called New Tealand and New Zealand are quite good at cricket now. Also, many of their cricket grounds are very green bowls anyway, so the public park cricket stuff would fit right in. Also, I think the elevated metro should have purple trains, because the 120 capacity train looks like an Elizabeth Line train

That hub station would work better if its internal road was on a loop road, that way the main road could continue beside it without be interrupted by next to zero traffic potential. Again, if you use mods, you can change the track assignment of the metro and train lines at will if needed. I'd turn the hub station around 180 to have the tram roads going under the rail viaducts. Tram and metro on effectively the same route, not good. The metro will undermine the tram as metro is faster.

after the update my world with around 50 hours of work was corrupted because of a asset pack with 200 destroyed assets. The mods over at Paradox forums couldn't fix it either, so now im building a new city. Huge inspiration on New Tealands too! edit: I always wondered which mode you used to scroll down to get roads, props, assets etc rather then scrolling left and right for ages to find something

Have you thought about flipping the station around so the above tracks can go above the tram streets and the 'on ground' tracks can do whatever they want on the side with less streets? :)

Haven't had issue with the ugs files but last night/early this morning, the game refused to boot up at all. I didn't bother looking to resolve that, but figured it'd be worth mentioning in case I'm not the only one. I have dlcs up to financial district and plazas& promenades. The ones that just dropped I'm.holding off on.

All the stations that go over roads need to give you options of how many lanes because most of them only give you one or two lanes at the most and the ones that give you less lanes are the ones that I need to be bigger.

17:12 the road between the museum and tearantula hub isn't one way. That's a busy road with 2 way traffic that you made traffic one way for a block on

I've always thought it strange that trams require depots, while monorail, metro and trains just simply appear. it seems they consider it road based instead of rail based.

The new hub would be easier to use if it was spun 180. Then the raised tracks could go over the tram tracks you've laid.

The bus-monorail-harbor does not work. Monorails seem to not be able to connect to the rails and I'm thinking the problem is the default track included in the station.

1:30 ish: Just a note: "Soccer" is actually short for Association Football, so called to distinguish it from Rugby Football, which was the first to codify its rules. IIRC, (and it surprised me), it goes Rugby Football (later Rugby League rules), Association Football, Australian Rules Football(!), American Football, Gaelic Football, Rugby Union rules, and Canadian Football. Note that all of this took place in the 1800s; this is digging up a VERY old fight. :)

After this last update, I think I am going to make a vanilla save. My computer is 5 years old. It was will above good when I brought it, so it lasted, but it is struggling now with this most recent update and new packs I brought. My game saves are unplayable after every update. My heart can't take it.

Hi ! There's no need for a mod, the depot sends out vehicules by itself 👌 After the previous free update when they gave different buses, i changed them all in my (100% vanilla) city and oh boy, the traffic problems it caused when they all returned to the depot and the new ones wanted to exit😅

@@noemierollindedebeaumont1130 They stil come out one after another and cause traffic jam for a bit. There is a mod wich controls sending out vehicles, first one bus (or tram) and second one after, let's say, 10 seconds...

Hi Biffa. why not turning the termin about 180 degrees. So you could use all lines and cross the tram due to elevated train lines.

I have really grown to enjoy building transport networks in this game! But it does seem like using 81 tiles and having a whole bunch of lines does make the game struggle sometimes. In my 400k pop city it started to take like a good 15 seconds before the game could map out a route and every route had the broken route icon despite working fine. The icon would go away if I sat there watching when a vehicle showed up. Lol😅

While it does have a higher passenger count, I think the airport express train for the metro would be a better fit (at least thematically) for the line that goes between the new hub and the airport.

At 7:00, what mod or setting do I need to get that shows hang many times an item has been used. On the items, it shows used/unused.

Someone probably mentioned it, but iirc that blank spot by Tearantula Station was a vanilla university. Don't remember when it got removed though 🤔

Don't think any vanilla universities have been removed from the game. There's been the high-capacity one added. I'm guessing that whatever asset Biffa had used there was a workshop item that's been removed from the workshop

hey Biffa and community, don't know if there is CS-Science behind this, but wouldn't it be better if you had your metro in a relay - race? (10:00) I eventually started organizing my public transport like that, because I found some subways were full from start to end without ever giving people on the interim stops the options to take the trains. Also in sections with more passengers you can easily adjust the amount of public transport. on the other hand you like to keep things as close to the real world as possible and who would take the subway if you had to leave and board at every station... If anyone made a video about this or has further information I'll be happy to learn :)

One of my cities I just started I keep having crashing issues even with up to date mods. I need to figure out which mod is causing instability. It's very frustrating that every time they update the game some mods need updating. Even if some still work and have the green exclamation point, it may cause instability

I wonder if it would be better to have Bentealey Park station rotated 180 degrees, for the surface lines to be in the highway side and the elevated ones on the river side, preventing some interferences with the tram lines and other streets to come ...
