It is pretty sweet to see where TV technology is these days. I can't believe how gorgeous footage can look these days. I'm still on 720p honestly but it is sure tempting to see what to shop for.

what's your thoughts on OLED vs miniLed?? I was just at bestbuy and while they are close, OLED just looks beter to me bc of the darks and overal contrast. However you can get bigger miniLEDs for the same price as the same tv in an OLED that's about 10inch smaller or so

Now that i have the recent Macbook Pros that can display HDR, i now love watching HDR video. It's so beautiful. SDR to HDR is the equivalent of when we went from 480p to 1080p. It's just a massive, punch you in the face, difference.

Watching this on my 11" (so technically non-HDR display) iPad Pro and I'll be always amazed how extremely well Apple is able to implement their "EDR" technology into their product. It still pops and somehow only the video itself seems brighter then the rest when I'm not in fullscreen in KZfaq. Not quite but still kinda like on OLED iPhones and the MiniLED screens.

Is it clear what's the best TV type right now? I remember a few years back it was clearly the LG OLED range by far, but now with mini LED, QLED, OLED and Im not sure Samsung LG or Sony etc

HDR is the Wild West. There communication between the sources and the screen is often so bad that the material won’t look anything like intended. And the way a lot of modern movies grade for HDR is really only using the extra room for the shadows which is dumb because even the reflection from your face can lift that up.
