This video explains how to mail merge photos using Microsoft Word

This video demonstrates how to use mail merge to merge photos into a Microsoft Word document. The tutor uses an Access database as the data source and explains that the database has file paths to photos. The tutor then starts the mail merge process by adding the database as the data source. The tutor then inserts the name and surname fields followed by the photo field. The tutor covers what happens if you just continue with the merge process, basically only the file path is merged. The tutor returns to the main document and inserts several merge fields around the photo field. When the merge process continues the photos appear and not the file path. This is a Microsoft Word tutorial covering mail merge, merge a photo, and merge fields. Merge images in Word. Advanced mail merge. The tutor uses the Ctrl key and F9 to activate merge fields.

Hi. It works for me but the image is partially hidden. I can make it show by changing the wrap settings but then when it exports it stays the same image for every record. Are there any restrictions to the image size or format?

Thanks. I got it working but when I save the merged document and reopen it the image disappears. I can get round it by copying and then pasting the image as a picture before saving but it makes it a bit fiddly. Is there any way around this?

I sized my photos individually before entering them in my data source. Was it fiddly? Yes, I had about 500 photos, but it was worth the effort.

I am trying to insert picture in mail merge, I press Ctrl F9 and nothing happens only the menu comes up, HELP!!!!

If you're on a laptop you might need to hold then fn key as well

This seems glitchy. I had a file that was working perfectly, then the next time I opened it, the photos wouldn't merge for love or money. Literally nothing changed. The data file was the same and the merge document was the same. How can that happen?
