This MV is so unique. Describes perfectly the fan and idol relationship, specially in a scenario when you are a kid and grow up "together" with them. The line "But i dont want to stay in the middle" it's so perfect, its like the idol is telling the fan that they can live their life, and the memories will always stay saved. But it's hard when you develop a parasocial relationship, was more easy to the fan in the MV to delete all the moments for a while than equilibrate her feelings for the group and the boy. But in the ends she still remembered all the good moments with nostalgia, wich is so sad lmao, always makes me cry. Its really a genius music video (and song too!) I've never seen a concept in this topic so well done like this. (Sorry for my english, im lazy rn to go to the translator).

Yup, this MV made me tear up at first watch and this make my head hurt at the first watch cuz I don't know what's going on but im so invested! 🤣🤭

Ok girl with the camera is heesoo.. she is lonely and depressed and has made up an imaginary world where shes part of newjeans, she only ever sees them through a screen (camera/tv) and its about the relationship between fans and idols and how fans use kpop to help them through tough times... and in side b she finally realises that however her escapism in kpop and her imaginary friends helps her at the end of the day shes still alone.. so she gives up on newjeans and moves on with the boy (who represents her chance at moving on and finding a real friend or something more in reality)... she swaps her imaginary world for reality. The ending always throws people off and i think its meant to.... but if you remember earlier (its brief but its there) she is actually just watching white noise on a tv screen... i think thats whats happening at the end also.. what we see on the screen is what shes seeing in her head as shes regressing back into her depression later on in life. The official mv (not the performance one) of 'OMG' is a sort of 3rd part to this and i think you will love the video.... its the opposite to this and shows the harmful impact that fans have on idols. Also i beleive youve seen ETA... newjeans dont exist in that either... they are parts of 'evas' imaginary friends except she uses them to fuel her paranoia as opose to in this where heeso uses them to cope with loneliness.

It would be nice if you actually Binge watch Newjeans from ATTENTION HYPE-BOY HURT COOKIE DITTO to OMG The 4th Wall breaking and self awareness is crazy.

Ok so on the video there's actually one interpretation that is about parasocial relationships between fans and idols ( Heesoo is the girl who films and represents the fans ) Second interpretation is that it's about growing up. Camera represents her watching videos of newjeans till she meets the guy and kinda grows out of it. ( the deer represents innocence, thats why in side b it walks away when Heesoo goes with the guy ) That's why at the end she puts the tape in the vcr and newjeans appear at her door being completely unchanged because the "videos" will always remain the same. 3rd one is darker... the other interpretation is that she was friends with the girls and they had an accident (involving a deer , so the deer is representing ptsd) in which all the members died but Heesoo survived. So the Camera is her way of coping with reality
