Hey, i just discovered you, but makes me smiles as your first contraption reminds me of my old redstone... In the past we were learning and our circuits were really visual, we didn't bother minimising all lines and stuff... Just making biiiig "and" doors and loong lines of repeaters to isolate flow of current like IRL cables... So fun that it's the same principles across the world :D Speaking of that... Sorry for my poor Belgian English 😅

I just realized the first ever cave door I made was yours 😂, it's been at least 5 years since I even saw that video and I always have the bottom block of quarts not go all the way down, couldn't even figure out why because redstone is wizardry to me!

Actually got to build with sacred Redstone back in the day, this was when JL2579's server was popular. He ended up helping me out on a few builds. The most memorable one was a 2 by 2 piston door with only one sticky piston, this was back before slime blocks were even a thing. I wanted to make a 3 by 3 with only one sticky piston but couldn't come up with a good design if it's even possible at all.

I was listening to this while making a "amazing" redstone door on xbox (it has the biggest amount of redstone behind it. if you saw it then it would be the most bulky redstone youd ever see)
