+OfficialBarstarzz Hi, might be a bit weird to ask under this vid, but what about wrist pain when practising a planche, is it about strength or technique or is it just about getting used to the position. Also: what to do about it, or should I just train right through it?
@SYKim_94
@SYKim_94 8 жыл бұрын
+Rens Kirchner It's both. As a beginner it's going to be more about strength, meaning that you're training your nervous system. You should train high frequency and low volume aka grease the groove to get used to planche training when starting. for wrists, do prehab wrist movements. before planche training, then rehab after training. do the easiest progression first, obviously. as you get used to it, switch to low frequency low volume in order to give your body a rest. when using body weight training, tendons and joints recover more slowely than you muscles, so listen to your body if it's not feeling right. Depending on what your physical base is, give or take, it will take around 1-3 years to get a straddle/full planche whichever is your goal. so patience and time is your friend in planche training.
@renskirchner6309
@renskirchner6309 8 жыл бұрын
Hestia Thanks, but first of all: I'm trying to get it in 3 months, and not 3 years... I always do good rehab, so that shouldn't be a problem at all! Also, I'm not a beginner, I have back and front lever both and can do clean and slow muscle ups. I already have the tucked planche, but when I come of, I feel wrist pain. I tried to watch technique, and it's getting better now, sometimes I don't even feel the pain anymore. However, when I do: Do I than have to work on my strength, am I doing the technique wrong that attempt when I do feel the pain, is it getting used to the position, or maybe even mobility?
@SYKim_94
@SYKim_94 8 жыл бұрын
Rens Kirchner Sorry to say this, but a planche is going to take more than 3 months. Again, I said depending on where you are at, it can take a year, two or even three. I think in your case, you might not be ready for the tuck planche, MAYBE. Your wrists should be sore, not in huge pain which sounds like that's what you're saying. By the way, how is your back lever? Because your back lever, especially when done with perfect form (hollow body,) and with an underhand grip, it will definitely carryover to your planche since both puts stress on the brachialis tendon, and if that is weak, this could be the reason why your wrists are hurting. In my honest opinion, I don't want to upset you, but it sounds like you shouldn't work on the planche; at least with the tuck planche. Are you doing planche leans and pseudo planche pushups? Work on those first until you feel strong enough to tackle the tuck planche. BUT, you don't need to listen to me. Make sure you tune in to your body and see whether or not it's ready. Your body should tell you if you're ready or not, and not me. I hope your planche training goes well :)

I've just hit 51 myself, and joined a gym and pool in June 2017. I had a proper 'Dad bod', 14.5 stone, and a big ol' gut! I told myself, If i don't do it now, I never will, so I started slow and easy, introducing my body to exercise, and here I am, 12 stone, flat stomach (Got a bit of fat to lose before my abs show, but I can feel them), Reasonable pecs, shoulders, bi's n tri's etc. Don't waste your middle age, sitting around eating crap and drinking, make a decision, start easy, KEEP GOING! I'm not special, just a regular Joe, but after 6 months, my body is better than most 25 year olds! I have more fun, I don't cough up a lung after a 30 sec run. I can lift stuff, before I dragged! Just wait until you slip into 32 inch jeans, and body fitting T shirts, It's fantastic! And guys...younger women actually check you out! I KNOW RIGHT!! START!

I'm 59 and the other day I did 5,000 push-ups in 5 hours and 25 minutes. I agree with everything this dude says. It seems he's been doing it his whole life, whereas I let myself go for - literally - decades. But I quit drinking 12 years ago after two DUIs, and finally quit smoking a year ago after 43 years of smoking (ridiculous!). I started working out several years ago, hurt my shoulders several times working with machines at the gym, and finally realized the best and safest way to train was bodyweight exercises. Just do reps, like this dude says, as often and as many as you can of as many exercises as you can. One is better than none, ten is better than one, and so on. The more you do, the more you want to do, and the more you can do. Our physical limitations are really mostly mental limitations, in my experience. I don't take any medicines, I feel great, and can keep up with twenty-somethings in the boxing ring. Just do reps!

Marcus, thanks for the inspirational talk and video . I had already started on my journey to improve my physicality , but seeing you ( in such great shape ! ) and hearing your words and feeling your enthusiasm is making me want to go out and do much much more than I had been doing . I'll turn 80 in four months and your ideas and concepts about physical health and conditioning and making your life richer by doing that are very sound and sensible . Although I'm almost 30 years older than you ( and haven't been doing exercise all of my life ) I wanna' look like you . That's motivation !!! Thanks so much , mate . From Santo Domingo I send you my very best wishes for you to continue in your fabulous journey towards health and happiness . George Lewis,Sr.

I know, but I'm saying, you usually decline as you get older (unless you start working out and didn't before), so being as good as he is at 56, when you're 26, which should be relatively much easier - vastly easier, would still be a massive accomplishment.

my two cents.....I am almost 50.I find that more days off are beneficial for me, I only train three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I also don't do my routine all at once. I read that exercise is just as effective cumulatively. So instead of working out out for a half hour or hour all at once I do a sets throughout the day. It works!! good luck to you all.

Bodybuilding is not calisthenics. Modern Bodybuilding is a scam created by Joe Weider and he recruited Arnold to build his empire. Pumping Iron and Arnold winning all those Mr Olympia was an orchestrated scam (just ask any old old pro bodybuilders from his era). Most bodybuilding exercises are isolation exercises and they don't engage the "core". Calisthenics exercises all engage the core. The core is the most important and if you have a strong core, everything else follows. Bodybuilding might give you big muscles for show, but if you want real strength and power you can actually use and help you in real life, then you need calisthenics. You can't make money from calisthenics because it can be done anywhere without purchasing expensive equipment. You don't even have to join a gym. This is why bodybuilding was invented. To make money! to sell you things. Same goes for supplements. They tell you to eat 5-6 times a day and that it will increase your metabolism... all lies!! lies to sell you more food and supplements. You actually only need to eat once or twice a days. This optimists your hormones and detoxes and heals your body. It's how the Greeks, Romans, and everyone else ate long ago before the corporations took over everything. Research intermittent fasting. Do calisthenics and intermittent fasting and you will live a long healthy life to old age.

tomchoi74, ok i understand. But what about the rocks (dwayne johnson) video about his diet and workout before he makes a movie? : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9yPl9iLm9ycp30.html All the moviestars tell that they eat until they cant eat anymore to gain muscles : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Zpt6eLKK17LNhY0.html Dont we need an surplus on calories to gain muscle?
@Arkane117
@Arkane117 5 жыл бұрын
You do know that The Rock took and takes steroids, right? many movie stars take steroids also. Many admit it and it's not a secrete. If you take steroids, everything is different. Did you know all the articles you read in muscle magazines or internet that tell you how pro bodybuilders eat and train are all made up? If you are a pro and you are under contract, the media writers can write/say anything about you. There was a time in my life when I was all into bodybuilding. I trained my girlfriend and was in back stage to many fitness competitions. I got to see how "the industry" works. The industry is not about health. it's so corrupt. Just ask anyone who is in it. they'll tell you the same. Those bodybuilder you see in the magazine, if you see them not on the stage, they are all fat. They just get ripped for the shows and take diuretics and drugs for the show. Don't fall for the propaganda. They just want to sell you supplements. They don't care about you. And you don't need that much protein. Do you know any single person who is protein deficient? Nobody! Most people eat too much protein! Unlearn everything you thought you knew and relearn everything. Seek the truth in everything. God didn't create us to need supplements and expensive equipment in order to be strong and healthy. Calisthenics and Intermittent fasting are free. They even save you money actually. I recommend Dr Eric Berg's youtube channel. He has good info for how to eat. He advocate intermittent fasting also. I train fasted. I play basketball for an hour then do calisthenics for 20 mins. I have more energy training fasted than eating before. It sounded crazy to me at first since it goes against everything they tell you in bodybuilding. But I experimented with both, and training fasted is better. Fact is, your body doesn't use energy from food you eat right before your workout. You body uses energy from food you ate the day before. Magazine, media, politics, most are lies!! Try it yourself and see. don't just follow what they tell you, think for yourself and understand why you do anything... You don't need surplus calories. Just eat quality natural food from nature (not processed). and quality fat is good and essential. most people need to eat more quality fat. Yolk is good an not egg whites. it's all about regulating your insulin. Learn what the insulin index of the food you eat are (meaning what food makes your insulin go up or not). This in turn also regulates your human growth hormone and testosterone. If you do intermittent fasting, this naturally does all this. I convinced my father who was taking diabetes and high blood pressure meds for years do intermittent fasting. Just after 3 weeks of doing it, he didn't need to take his meds anymore. Doctor even told him that diabetes can only be managed but not cured. I cured him in 3 weeks with intermittent fasting. The modern medical industry is a scam controlled by drug companies. Doctors only do what they are told.
