I grew up in Shawano and my parents used to take us to Cecil to ride go-karts. There used to a be a nice little track there, but I think it's gone now. This was back in the 90's.

Bonduel and Cecil WI. I have driven through those places thousands of times in my 68 years. The Dairy Cove is my most favorite place! Love the Washington Inn also. It all tastes of summer😄

Hey guys. There is a house in Clear Lake , Wi called the Taylor house. It is modeled after Andy Griffith home on the TV show. The whole surrounding area is modeled after Mayberry. Hope y'all got my postcard. 😂❤

Hey Sally! That was a neat old Shell station! Being green and white, I thought it might have been a Sinclair station. Their colors were green and white too. I loved the old architecture of the building with the Elbow Room in it. It's always cool to see those windows with the arched tops still in existence or not bricked over. I think Marty was right about the fire station bell. It was undoubtedly in the old fire station. I'm glad they kept it. I love second hand stores! It's like going on a treasure hunt. You never know what you'll find! Too bad that one was closed when you were there. The Marty-burger looked so good! You said it was the best burger ever and it looks it! I could seriously chow down with at least two of those! Very cool old Thunderbird at 17:05! That's about a '78 and looks like a good project car. The last shoe repair shop closed in my town in North Georgia years ago. It was run by an older gentlemen at the time and he was really good. He repaired my dress shoes and did a fantastic job. I'm like you about cemeteries. As you said, those that have gone on don't care. I was raised to respect the place of the dead, and that includes keeping it up. I wish a group of volunteers would trim what needed trimming, fill in the collapsed graves, straightening leaning headstones, and whatever else needed doing. It's a place for families to remember their loved ones that have passed on and also part of the local heritage. I really enjoyed the tour Sally! I love these small towns on backroads. And that hot fudge sundae with salted caramel looked awesome! Thanks for sharing your trip!

Cecil was served by the old C&NW RR line ran between Eland and Green Bay. Passenger train service on that rail line was abandoned many years ago.

Been through Cecil a bajillion times and never knew there was a second hand store! You should have gone up R to VV to Primal Eats on the game farm. That in itself is an experience. Technically Gillett but closer to Cecil. Best beef brisket, cole slaw, and beans ever. Plus lots of weird stuff and a wall of beer. Please come to Pulaski. Or Suring/Kelly Lake where we have a lake house.

I loved the video. There is just something intriguing about the history of a small town. I heard you mention a place called the Bavarian Inn in another town. A great place for a visit is the neat little German town of Frankenmuth Michigan which also has a Bavarian Inn restaurant. Looking forward to your next video. Take care, stay safe and God bless. I love your videos. If you ever get a chance, I would love to see you do a video on Stanley Wisconsin. I had family there when I was a kid and we used to go up there all the time. My Great Uncle owned Heiser's bar, which was attached to their house on the main street. It is long gone now, but have some fond memories of the place. I haven't been back since the early '80s and would love to see what's going on there now.

Here in Quincy Il. we have a shoe repair shop. Boyers. First rate place. We don't have a lake, but we got the mighty Mississippi flowing by below the bluffs. Two other things we don't lack, churches and taverns. We also have many old historical homes, typical of old river towns. We even have a castle. Quincy has many parks also. Quincy has a very rich history, one being one of the sites that Lincoln and Douglas debated in back in1858.

What happened to Papetual Care? For Cecil Cemetery. It's sad to see the Graves left in disarray. Just adopt a Grave with a group. Girl Scouts, 4-H and ect.. Thanks for sharing your travels with us. I still remember going to Shannow Lake with my Family. And wadeing in the water. And a picnic in the Park 🏞️.

There is an "Elbo Room" in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where Elvis reputedly used to hang out at. It has been a popular hang out for Spring breakers since it's right across the street from the beach on US A-1-A - Ocean Blvd.

Oops didn't mean to submit already, so will be 2 sets if comments from me. Canal in the middle of town is cool. Love some of the homes you pointed out near the lake. Can only imagine how much would cost in similar area in California. Those burgers look pretty good! Interesting park and campground! Amoco gad station. Have not seen one in years. Shoe repair stores are rare. Cecil cementary is not too bad in disrepair. I have seen worse where I live in north central California. I do get what you mean to improve things to make the cementary more attractive. Dairy Cove must have ice cream 😅, yummy 😋!

That is so true about eating out...My food I make at home is almost always better than any restaurant. Except Asian food - I am still learning how to cook those specialty items. And I don't have a deep fryer for the egg rolls and Mexican Chimichangas I like from restaurants.

They outlawed “Double Bubble” and “Happy Hours” some years ago here in the ex-American state of IL. If there is a drink special it must be run all day and not limited to just a few hours. Cannot have “Ladies night” either, that gave one gender freebies over the other. Interference with free enterprise in my opinion. We live about 10 miles South of the Cheddar Curtain and absolutely LOVE WI. Green Lake, WI has been the most frequented destination in my lifetime. Deepest lake in WI at 237 ft. Some interesting history there! Including the seaplanes that would fly booze in mainly to the wealthy Chicagoans during Prohibition that would Summer on the NE shoreline, an area called Oakwood. A great fire happened there too wiping a lot of the cottage resort out. Then there is the Green Lake Conference Center (GLCC) originally developed by a publishing magnate couple and for years called The American Baptist Assembly. Always open to the public with every lodging option from tent camping, camper hook up sites, Cottages, homes, and hotel rooms. I’ll search the channel it could be you’ve covered the area in a past video. Nearest town Ripon WI also with some good history!
