Bro, I have been playing for 12,000 hours. You reminded me of what it was like to play Dota for the first time. Thank you so much for that. And somehow you managed to capture dynamics about the game that took me a long long time to figure out - like the fact that I enjoy the feeling of superiority over my former self as I improve more than I do about beating my opponents. Wonderful wonderful video, incredibly edited and well written and I'm so glad it showed up in my recs. Instant sub 'This game exists in that thin barrier between stress relief. . . and sadism.' SO FUCKING TRUE LOL
@ShireJakАй бұрын
Thanks man, That means a lot! It makes me happy to know that even an extremely experienced player enjoys my work. I'll have to use some of your guides as I start getting better opponents, I'm already starting to run across better and better players.

The war between the ancients actually only happens once. Each game of dota is an alternate reality where the ancients each recruited five different heroes and a different battle occurred.
@saveklaАй бұрын
I'm pretty sure that universe just restarts when one of the ancients falls. Like it can't exist without one of the fundamentals because the balance gets ruined or something like that. And so dota is a tale of endless war between two sides happening across infinite timelines. With each timeline being different, with ancients "hiring" different heroes under different circumstances. And Arc Warden wants to stop that war and keep balance of power between ancients either by keeping them both alive or destroying them.

thank you for making a video covering dota 2, its been years since i played it and i just started playing it again and regretting doing so and yet again coming back for another match. At least turbo. You sound like a really cool and entertaining dude, at least i found your narration, voice and comments, really welcoming and joyful. The only thing i think it would have been nice to mention is the voice acting in this game, at least for me is so fucking unreal godlike and i hope one day i could make something like that, literally a source of inspiration. Anyway, thank you for this and thanks youtube for your algorithmical magic that brought me here. Best regards from Argentina
@ShireJakАй бұрын
Thank you! I truly appreciate the kind words! And yeah the game can be rough, especially solo. You are right, the voice acting and direction is almost across the board amazing. I should have mentioned it but the script was already so long that it slipped through. I feel like Valve's writers always have a solid grip on believable dialogue. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

@@ShireJak idk if LoL has this, but in DotA 2 certain heroes will say different things if some specific hero is in their team or if they are killing that hero. Some of them are friends, some enemies or have some other common background story and they will reference it during gameplay, giving another layer of personality and lore

Being honest with you, I always saw Dota 2 as the worst game, Im a grandmaster League player with over 10 years of experience, tried dota back in 2017 and I absolutely hated it. Then, since the last patches have been pure garbage, me and my friends wanted to play something different. Started playing Dota recently and oh my god, I got like 250 hours already and i've been enjoying it so much, its really refreshing as people might say. I'm honestly just wanting to learn all the mechanics needed so I can start ranking on my own (despite the toxicity, since I already have a strong mental from all those years trying to rank up in league) and, lets just say I love how Dota doesn't restrict ANY of his mechanics. It's SO FREAKING FREEING how I can do anything I want in the game without some company behind trying to ruin the fun.

Great video.I've personally been playing Dota 2 for a decade at this point,got 1800+ hours in it(and plenty of money spent on it).Recently i figured out that there are VERY annoying heroes that i started to main,i can even solo the match on some of them,but that's as long as my teammates don't feed and my enemies don't play way better than me.Pugna?Pick mid,get lvl6 and do push speedruns while sucking the life outta enemies and obliterating them with Dagon.Treant Protector?Literally useful on any lane due to seed providing enough healing to revive a dying elephant,and then he evolves into an annoying rootspam machine.Ogre Magi?Fireblast and multicast,that's all i've said.But that's not all,because Dota 2 is TRULY unique,because it's one of the rare games that make me merge with the character i play as,starting to act like them,starting to feel big strong and tanky,or small and quick.Despite it having a very bad playerbase,i still cannot stop but keep playing Dota 2.

its insane how valve managed to just flat steal half of their entire games list and people still regard them as an amazing studio . the games that valve ACTUALLY made themselfs were half lifes and portals . Counter strike was a mod of half life , team fortress was a mod of quake , dota was a mod of warcraft 3 and left 4 dead was a mod of counter strike . they did indeed make great games out of them like left 4 dead 2 basically invented the horde sub genre and i still regard dota 2 as the best moba ever , However that doesn't make them any less stolen IPs / ideas . Also its astonishing that nobody be giving credit to the KICK ASS editor that wc3 and sc2 had which without them Tower defenses , mobas , 4x , 2x genres would quite literally never exist . Besides people being dumb this was indeed an excellent video .
@dylandurance434020 күн бұрын
i mean valve didnt just outright steal the games though, the people who created the mods they took with them to work for them and turn it into a real game and keep it funded. it was a very positive thing for both the individual and the company, and to all of us consumers who enjoyed the mods & games that came from them. Sure, the games werent originally theirs, but the people who made the mods are at valve creating the actual game with much better funding than they had themselves. and i know in the case of warcraft and DoTA, the guy who made the dota mod originally tried to go with Blizzard, and it didnt work out so valve took it. good for them i say.

Really cool video, definitely subbing. Btw, you should watch SirActionSlacks' Loregasm videos, especially the one about the ancients (i think it's the first one). Your arc warden plays a really big part in the grand scheme of dota's lore. The "Self" he always refers to is the entity that the dire, radiant, and Zet (arc warden) become when they're as one, as they were in the beginning. The dota Lore is REALLY fucking cool. You should also watch his spectre loregasm video, its quite the mindblower
