This song gets me through those days. I was diagnosed with stage 1 young-onset Parkinson's at the age of 45 in 2014. No matter what, we're almost home!

Billy, the song was a dedication to the singer's friend who have lost a lot of friends and family. So the singer wanted to reassure his friend, that we are almost home, brother it wont be long and you will be home with them

The suit is the burdens and trials in life, the patches are shared experiences you share and gift others in life by what you have been through.. his life ends and when he sheds the burdens..the suit..he goes home!

Hey Billy! New subscriber here! So- my husband and I had to watch the video a couple times to get the meaning behind it... but this is what we came up with... So the video is a symbolic representation of a Christian life. The astronaut suit, shows that we are born into and visiting a hostile planet. Because Earth is not our true home. We are visiting a world that is plagued with sickness, war, violence.... hostile world. His memories of his life with his wife who dies... as many of us lose our spouses and children in our lives... we all go through loss and hard times. When he comes up to people and hands them the patches.... he is sharing the Gospel of Christ with them and being a comfort to them as well. At the end... he takes off the suit as an old man because his time has finally come to leave the hostile planet and go Home to Heaven. At least that's what my husband and I got from it. Hope that helps!

I think that astronaut suit is just saying that we are sojourners or travellers that aren't living where we belong. Like if we were on the moon we would need that suit. When we get "home" we won't need that suit anymore.

Beautiful song and the first time I have heard it. But I am stuck on the astronaut thing. For most of the video, I was thinking that it was he that was sick and the astronaut suit was his protection from the environment, people, etc. Especially since he was wearing it as a boy. B Then when he took it off and left it at the end, made me think he did not need it, because he was Home. That maybe the people helping him up, were helping him in the transition from this life to his Heavenly life. Maybe? I will have to search out the meaning. Its a great video, no matter what. As is the song.

The band said the other songs and their videos on this album will tie in with this one. This is actually the video that ties all the other people's stories together. They're basically putting the videos out backwards for some reason. But eventually we will see all their stories. Thanks for doing this song. It's one of my new favorites

You should listen to "Home" by Chris Tomlin. It was my mom's favorite. I didn't know about the song until she sent it to me, just a few days before she died. We played it at her funeral. I don't really listen to this kind of music, but I listen to that song all the time, I feel closer to her when I do.

Maybe referencing that just as astronauts are travelers to a place they don't belong...so are we traveling here on earth and our home truly is heaven. We don't belong here and each day traveling we are almost home. I recently requested 'Brother' by NEEDTOBREATHE maybe you could listen to 'Difference Maker' by NEEDTOBREATHE as well. There's a reference to the astronaut in that song. ♡♡♡

I saw the astronaut as a Christian who is trying to live in a world that is alien to him - his home is heaven. He passes his source of faith (the badge) on to others. When he crosses the bridge into heaven, those he helped are there to help him out of the restrictive "clothing" that is our fleshly bodies, and to freedom.

He gave out the almost home patches to people "going home to god". In the end, the little girl handed him one she colored and the other people were there that helped hi. Off with his uniform..I believe ran the rest of the way to his wife probably...but he was finally home also
