I’ve seen grown men cry listening to this song. Did you know that the BeeGees actually wrote all their music? They really are extraordinary.

This is Barry Gibb at his most gorgeous best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that voice!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many women would love to run their fingers through that hair?

3 brothers who write the music, write those lyrics which are poetry, do the arrangements, play the instruments, sing their own songs with their incredible harmonies, give great concerts and look good. They have been singing together since the late 1950s and recording since the late 60s. Those are their natural voices and harmonies. No auto tune. God-given pure talent. No formal training, self-taught with instruments and when they started they couldn't even read music. Barry hit High C in this song which is incredibly hard for an un-trained male voice. They have also written songs for a variety of big artists.

I think the worst of the history of the BeeGees was that as the oldest, Barry was sure he'd be the first to die later in life...only to find that he was the last to survive. Can you imagine not just outliving your younger siblings, but having them ALL die much younger than they ever should have, and living for years afterward alone, after having been together so long... The interviews with Barry about his family are heartbreaking...

Let me share a secret with you.....you tear up....cause it's more beautiful than anything you have ever witnessed. Don't feel bad.....they give me the chills when I hear them. Michael Jackson CRIED the first time he heard them!!!!!!! They became good friends.

Yeah Robin and Maurice, the twin bros on the left and right of Barry loved his falsetto so they pushed him to do it as much as possible and the results speak for themselves....They' d been singing together since they were in single digits...so unique harmonies have a tendency come from all that time singin together...they layered it many times in the studio to get the choir effect......R.I.P Robin and Maurice...also the baby brother Andy who was a popular singer in his own right and passed away in his 30s from heart failure...Barry is still with us....This song came out when I was 15...and I'm 56 now....and it still moves me to tears....they gave all the publishing profits from this song to UNICEF charity for children back in 79.....I could go on..lol.....What incredible talents and men!

I absolutely love the reactions this song has. Every time I have seen a reaction the streamer looks happy after the first note. This is brilliant music. Listen to other songs by the Bee Gees and other artists from the 70s and early 80s. Barry the one in the middle, has been married to his wife for 50 years. So although they looked like they would be spreading their love around, they didn't. They were as loyal to their partners as they were capable to sing without gadgets and gizmos.

It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats.This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad! The 1st time I heard this song, I was 15 years old. I was sitting on the floor in our living room. They sang with so much emotion that I had tears running down my face. It didn't hurt that before this I found out that Barry and I shared the same birthday, me in 1963 and him in 1946. While I was crying, my daddy came in and told me to knock it off or he'd change the channel. He was mean.

It's okay, I was tearing up too. Something ethereal and divine about this. They were a blessed gift to the world.

Bro! When it first dropped in 1978, it had the same effect it is having in 2024. Blues, Country, Rock, Gospel, Soul/R&B, there weren't many radio stations this song didn't play on. It was and is the most beautiful song I had ever heard. I was only 13 when it came out. And it rivaled everything that came out that year. It's getting its resurrected release in 2024!!

Barry didn't know he could sing falsetto until the producer on the song Nights On Broadway wanted a high pitch scream at the end of the song. History was made.

They had a different sound, hits in the 60s, 70s, eighties and 90s. You can't pigeon holes these brothers. They can do it all and they did. Barry has the deepest voice, he can go deep, soft and of course how famous head voice. They all can and again they have on different songs.

The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.' I was married a year before this song was released. The song would had been our wedding song, even if hubby said no. They wrote ALL of their songs! Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in England, then moved to Australia. (1) Maurice (on the right-short hair ) While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days! Maurice (pronounced Morris) passed in 2003. I feel he should had been the lead on at least one song on every album. Beautiful voice. (2) Robin (on the left-long hair) passed in 2012 from cancer. He and Barry complimented each other with their voices. To me, he was the comedian of the group. Robin and Maurice were fraternal twins. (3) Andy, (not pictured) the youngest brother had his own successful career. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30, from inflammation of the muscles around his heart. He and Barry could had passed as twins, even though he was 12 yrs younger than Barry. The 3 brothers were also married and had children. (4) Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide (probably more by now.) They were also writers for other musical artists. On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 76, January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family. There were 4 Bee Gees. The youngest brother, Andy Gibb, died at a pretty young age. Barry Gibb (the brother in the middle) is the only one remaining now.

Barry in a recent interview said none of the Bee Gees could read music. He said he just found out recently that notes have numbers. He said they never had training he said which might have been a good thing. He said they were never told they were not suppose to be able to harmonize at certain levels. he said if they heard a certain sound all 3 would copy it. He said if one brother made a sound the other two would match it. He said they wrote the Music first and then wrote lyrics to fit the music. Barry said they would be spontaneous. I'm a little late to the party!! It's New Years Eve of 2022. The Bee Gees music 🎶🎶 will stand the test of time. I lived through that whole " Death of Disco " thing and it was horrible . Going to a Disco and dancing to the music of the BeeGees, Donna Summer etc. was great fun.
