yet there are also many in the LGBTQ community that are saying this does not help their cause in trying to just be left alone. They said this is sexualizing the movement. I have to somewhat agree with them that it is a perversion and mockery of what many are fighting for. But hey, keep falling in to that hollywood trap of glitz and glamour to hide all the shit that is going on.

People don't have to get married nowdays, they choose to. Plenty of straight people never do it so no really necessary to pretend be normal so if somebody does it that's a bad person period, manipulative and using persons for their own gain.

@@ingrid6295 There is still SO MUCH religious oppression of LGBTQ people, it is naive to think that people don't still feel forced to pretend they are straight when they are not. A significant % of homeless youths are homeless because they got kicked out by their parents for being LGBTQ. You might want to educate yourself a little on what life for LGBTQ people is nowadays. It is not all roses and many countries, incl. in the West, are reintroducing legislation to discriminate against them. The fight for equal rights and safety is still very much on.

To say that people "choose" to get married and that they no longer need to pretend to be straight when they are not is BEYOND naive, even in the Western world and especially in the US there are very toxic branches of religion utterly intolerant of anyone LGBTQ+. Just look at what is going on with trans rights in the USA and Europe. A HUGE percentage of homeless youth are LGBTQ because they got kicked out bey their parents for being who they are, so many still choose to go the traditional route of getting married to someone of the opposite sex because they fear losing their community and/or because they have been indoctrinated to believe that being LGBTQ+ is sinful. Also, "pretend to be normal"? Really? That wording alone shows that being LGBTQ+ is not accepted and safe, even in Western countries. Being LGBTQ+ is PERFECTLY NORMAL. It is just too often not safe because of violent and deluded bigots.
