Andy's latest school rewards trip is a return to Nottingham to ride the trams, but we've had to cancel it twice already, first when Anna and Andy were sick two weeks, and then again on Saturday because of a weather warning. He wasn't going to let us cancel for a third time, so despite weather reports suggesting it was a bad idea, we headed to Nottingham anyway...

ABOUT KEVIN CHAPMAN
I'm a 38 year old KZfaqr from the UK. I've got a cracking beard and I'm currently going through the autism diagnosis process. I started this channel back in 2017 and by the time I left my full-time job as a Computer Science teacher in July of that year, my partner Anna was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw me because I was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today I'm a full-time content creator and always at home when the kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my ongoing journey! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs and The Chapman Family.

When I was young, our Dad would refer to my younger brother as "The Plumbing Inspector ".He could not pass a Men's restroom without going in.

I have friends that are autistic and others that’s are blind and they can all hear trains and buses minutes before they arrive it amazes me every time. One friend can even tell you what the model is just by the sound

I'm also blind and have Aspergers. I can distinguish different vehicles and I can hear trains from quite a distance away. I can hear them a mile or so up the road from the train station where I live. Here in the UK, trains don't sound the horns as they come like some trains in the USA, but I can hear the wheels scraping the sides of the rails, metal on metal.I know the sounds of familiar cars and I can tell from the bumps or bends in a road or even the speed limit sometimes where the car or bus is going if the area where I'm travelling in a vehicle is familiar. can't really do that on a train, tram or anything on rails, since everything feels the same there.

just another idea for a day trip for andy if he likes trams. look at crich tramway museum its in derbyshire but im sure he would love to go

My son who also has ASD has an obsession with toilets, he has to look at the toilets everywhere we go and we have to visit the motorway services 3 times a week to "vist the toilets". He also watches KZfaq videos of plumbers fitting toilets 🚻 I've no idea why he likes them so much or how it started but I thought it interesting that Andy has developed a similar interest as it seemed such a strange interest I didn't expect that anyone else would.

Interesting fact: the percentage on the weather forecast isn’t the chances of it raining but the percentage of the area it will rain upon. For example, if it said 30% rain for Leicester then that would mean 30% of Leicester would be rained upon.

I always thought it was, the chance of it raining. Interesting. I'll remember that when I have to lead an almost blind, 10-year-old Labrador dog who refuses his lead now, on a 55-minutes very sludgy boggy wet walkies round the Recreation ground fields which are such a short distance from my house, but it still takes twice as long to get there and back again after walking 3 or 4 laps. "i'm like Andy when it comes to foul weather, so's the dog.

No James. That’s not true, someone from the met office said that it was a fake. The percentage is what it’s going to rain. Not who much in that area.

Just watched this following watching your KZfaq income video which was enlightening. I think it finally dissuaded me off doing a KZfaq channel properly beyond just chucking up footage from going to model railway exhibitions with a friend. I am far too ill to reliably put the levels of effort in that you had to, at least not without serious consequences for my health. Your fm content however I have really enjoyed over the years. That on top of the hard work that Andy must be is commendable. The raising of awareness your vlogs do however is very worthwhile.

Hello Sir. I am Sorry the Weather sent the Day Pear Shaped. It was an Absolute Deluge where I am as well, and we had a Day out Cancelled. I also *Hate* getting Wait, so I Understand Andy's Dislike for it as well! Wow! Andy is one Proper fast Runner! Good to see You coming down Hard when Andy gets Naughty. Yes, I am sorry there was a Meltdown Saturday Night, I hope Andy was Ok afterwards. Good to See Him still Wearing those Nice Safe Slip Ons :) Sorry the Ticket Machine does not do Contactless. Indeed, its always good to carry some old School Cash. Sorry Andy was in an "odd Mood":( I am glad Andy calmed down after the Tram Ride. Yeah, that Station is one of Andy's Happy Places. :) I wonder, given that some of us with Autism can have Hyper-Sensitive Hearing, if Andy can hear the Trams coming before You do? And the Railway Crossing Too! Nice! :) Shame it was only a Tram this time and Not an Express. Those clouds look very Ominous! Good to see Andy got His two Trams before the Skies Opened. An ARK Krypto Bite? I use the Exact Same Chewie's! I hope You all enjoyed the Meal :) Lasagne and Chips is a Great Eat out Meal IMO! Yes, You do Dunk the Chips in the Lasagne. Dry, An Old Building, Church Bells and a Big Digital Display, Perfect Place for Andy. Kia's do not Swim. it will still be there. You Timed very Well! I am Sorry You are still having issues with Andy going to every Toilet Going. A Meltdown? oh Dear, that is not Good. Sadly, I suffer Terribly with IBS, so I *do* need to use Toilets a lot when Travelling. Indeed, being made to Wait for Coffee (Every. Time! so make it Routine!) might put Andy Off visiting every Toilet going. Well, take care then Guys, Bye Now.
