These whiskeys don’t seem like they’re suited to being a replacement for the main spirit in a drink. They’re usually heavily sweetened, which isn’t the case for normal whisky, and much lower proof. Maybe if they were added as a modifier, or say 1 ounce of the flavored whisky and one ounce of normal whisky to raise the proof and cut the sweetness, they would work better.

I don't know enough about cocktails to know if this qualifies as a different drink altogether, but cherry and lime go together well in nonalcoholic preparations, so maybe a Cherry Whiskey Smash with limes instead of lemons would turn out better. I kinda want to just see an episode of this dedicated to spinning the wheel for just old fashioneds. I feel like some flavors could work well but others definitely would not. It would be a pretty entertaining episode imo.

When it comes to any drink variation (using a flavored liquor or additional mixer) I generally leave out the simple syrup to start. I figure you can always reintroduce it, but you can't take it out, and most of these always lean too sweet with their full measure.

I feel like a few of these could make their way to the local mid-priced bistro's cocktail menu. You know, the kind of place that offers an old fashioned but they use an ounce of simple syrup because people want incredibly sugary drinks.

Seems like for a drink that assumes 2oz of 80 proof whiskey and .5-1oz simple, you could just use 2.5-3oz of 70 proof flavored whiskey and drop the simple and end up at the same place without a ridiculously sweet drink.

Lol wow, I was not expecting this to go so poorly. I thought at least 1 of them would be remotely ok, or at least something you could tweak slightly to make functional. Maybe this would work better with some of the flavored gins? There's plenty of those out there.

I really like that he called the coconut whiskey an abomination. My usual phrase for this garbage is “an abomination unto the Lord”. I’m a trainer for a wine and spirits company. When I talk to new employees (cashiers, stock clerks) I ask what they drink. Always have one who says “whiskey”, so I ask “What type?” The response is usually “I love Skrewball. You mix it with Chambord and it tastes just like a PB & J.” And another bit of my soul dies.

Loving this wheel gimmick; it's a lot of fun! Your videos and creativity bring me a lot of joy, and I'm grateful that you keep making such fun stuff. Plus, I'm always happy to see someone succeed at doing something that's rewarding to them to make their living, rather than being stuck totally alienated from their labour like so many of us. Hell yeah. Would love to see more tiki stuff sometime again, if you're of a mind. It's become a fixation of mine over the past two years, lol.
