For my white Battletech stuff, when I'm speed painting, I actually just do a grey prime, a sloppy wash with AP Dark tone, then drybrush white with a makeup brush. Then go through, touch up panel lines, and do panel highlights. Makes a nice, dirty, worn white quickly. You can quickly batch paint a whole mess of mechs.

Nice timing! i'm visiting star wars legion, and they have a few storm troopers to paint... just a few. hardly worth counting... and i have been doing your trick, with a few mods. zenithal highlighting in 3-4 steps, then i apply a thinned down blue glaze, and not across the entire model. just the shadows and on some flat surfaces. then i clean it up with pure white, and a bit of spot highlights on raised areas and shines. finish off with black weapons and crevasses between armour plates. i am going to try out a modified version which involves army painters speedpaint (mainly black for weapons). should get me through units in batches quite easy. happy to see that my thought process isn't just decent for me, but has similarities to people that are on a different level regarding painting for comission and the like. cheers!

I thought you primarily used Reaper paints?
