In this episode, we add more obstacles to Metro Mayhem before starting construction of the swimming section of the course. We take a break from the course to do a little Minecraft science and raid some ocean monuments to take first place in a new contest!

Since even the Hermits are confused on what the "pre-murder" diamonds are, basically, cleo stole some of doc's villagers for their S tier books store, doc retaliated by killing the villagers, so cleo gave a cut of all diamonds before the murders, and named them "pre-murder" diamonds

Not only that, but when Doc first found out Cleo had stolen the villagers, they agreed to give him a cut of the diamonds they got from selling the books, and then went and made the books free with a purchase of a beverage. That's when Doc got fed up and killed them.

The signs don't show anything because they're double sided now, and when you right click them from that angle, you're actually putting the text on the side that touches the stone.

If skizz doesn't react to the Statue being moved or doesn't take the Statue down I say you rebuild it but twice as large and see how long it takes for him to notice

The pigs decent would be even cooler if the hermit who was riding it would go into the void, so youd get an actual live time stamp of when the hermit hit the void (dies) and youd be able to know right then and there just how fast it takes from build height to the void (like the botem hole 2.0 :D - but with faster death delivery - maybe scar should be the one to ride the pig haha)

Void isn't an instant kill when you reach a certain depth; at that speed (and, optionally, with enough totems) you might survive going for a few hundred more into negative Y coordinate

All you need to get a pig to build height is a honey-based flying machine! Put it in the boat or a minecart temporarily to prevent it from wandering off and you're golden. But this is Hermitcraft, so someone will probably go through a lot of effort to build a soul sand water elevator all the way up, lol

Would it be a good idea to use the mail system as a form of online shopping. Perhaps you could make a shop that is hooked up to the mail system and people could order something from a shop. They would put the right amounts of diamonds in the mail and a piece of paper of what they want to order, also a location of where the order should be send to the customer. You could build a contraption that automatically reads the order and send a package back to the player. If the shop is out of stock or the player didn't pay enough diamonds , the diamonds can be send automatically back. You can give everyone a book with things you sell and the price of the items

I understand that it wouldn't be more practical that a regular shop but I do believe it would be an interesting project even though it might be a really complex one. And the stamps are really cheap so I don't think that would be a problem

The water section could be stylelised like its the swage system of the city. So when youre swimming through the tighter spots theyre actually pipes that lead to flooded coverns from broken pipes

I think beside from just terracota arrow blocks and lights, there should be like some neo-projection alike signs using stained glasses to form an arrow. It should make it feel really modern and really aid players where to go without having to pause then look for

Metro Mayhem looks great! Adding multiple areas to swim through (sort of as a choose-your-own path) to break up the linearity of it might be an idea? It also makes the other hermits want to retry to discover the fastest path available! Cheers, looking forward to more episodes!

For the unfinished room in the subway, you could take a page from Fallout 3 and make it a maintenance area, with lockers, an manager's desk, break room (vending machines), and a recharging station for the robot.

Looks great! Two ideas: 1. The course should come up above ground into buildings and maybe chase (inside) through a row of apartments, go through a skywalk, then up and down a large skyscraper type building 2. There’s should be an underground sewer society with mutants living in shanties getting ready to start a revolt.

a minor thing, but I think the blockade would look better if there was just a little more of the tunnel visible behind it before there's the black wall of darkness, maybe with some damage, just small adjustment to make it feel more like a long tunnel that stretches out beyond the blockade

decorate those one wide swim spots like people are swimming through copper drainage pipes, and then you can use acacia trapdoors (which look like vents were water is being diverted elsewhere) to trip people up as they swim through. trap doors are better than half slabs because you can get them positioned at any angle, and they are just enough of a ledge that people can pass through them, but also can trip them up if they are leaning to one side too much

The risk of mobs in a race is the added randomness. Someone might get unlucky and have like 2 willies to fight through, which would not be equally fair, but if there are no major stakes to this then that may not be an issue.

For the trident wielding drowned, you could "box" them in with trapdoors, so they can fire out at players, but are unable to leave the 1x1 or 2x2 spot, you could then design the underground drowned area as a steampunk ruins.

2:37, As long as drowned with tridents don't spawn, it should be fine to allow them. 10:57, When two are up there, they could be bred for a supply of them so getting more up wouldn't be necessary, if more than one try is needed or others want to try it. Thinking about it, a flying machine should work to get them up there. In the meantime, down to the bedrock could be cleared, if necessary. The lever to open the fence gate could also move a trapdoor to update a wall to indicate when to pull it down, since it may be difficult to see when it opens depending on how high up it may be.

I think it would be fun for the main path to end/be blocked by debris fully, and then the water path entrance be a hole broken in the wall. Like the game was in the subway and you have to go “out of the game” to continue. Would make sense for it to be come more natural there too! Maybe somewhere later you could re-enter the part where you were “supposed” to go originally too (past the blockade that “isn’t supposed to be there”). With all the twists and turns in the water section I’m sure you could have that part start anywhere it wouldn’t actually have to line up. You could just create that illusion of making it look like the other side of the collapsed area/debris pile/blockade. I hope that’s understandable!

for my brain, teleporting = immediate relocation with zero interval for travel; descending/ascending both require a duration of time spent moving across a certain space.

I love the cave vibes for the underwater section and maybe you could keep some of them. But what would be much more cyberpunk and imo way cooler to swim through, and is even kinda laberyntic in nature which I think would also be awesome to have, are sewers!!! Make it so the underground section are the sewers of the city!!! I think that could look amazing and add the possibility of adding tougher obstacles that are more inkeeping with the cyberpunk theme. The only problem is the water can't be swamp water... That would make it perfect.

Impulse, your steampunkish city with games really gives me the Netflix serie "Alice in borderland" vibes. Japanese serie where they play deadly games to survive in the city. I think it might be a good one for you to get some inspiration for a few fun city game. Your metro game is almost exactly like one of the Borderland games for example ;)

An idea for the one-wide section of the water course, have several paths that will randomly open or close. Have most normal, some will slow you and maybe have one have soulsand so you can get the soul speed boost

A cool idea for the water part would be to add oxidised copper in the one wide areas. It could be old drainage/suage pipes for the city.

To make the swimming area with the tridents harder you should add some mine carts that move around underwater with more trident wielding drowned so you can control where they go and as the swimming guys may group up. With too many people going through the area at once.

For the one wide section you could make it warp speed/warp zone with a spiral design with dolphins grace but still half slabs for some obstacles to make it a little more challenging/interesting

You're probably full up, but a nice late thing is a (swim mode) maze, think maintenance tunnels. But at the start of each run, some things close, some open up. Then throw some hints to them on the way. Easy mode is a room before with unmarked lights that are on or off. These indicate which ways are open ahead, but with no markings, they'll have to puzzle out which lights mean what. Hard mode is spreading those lights throughout all earlier parts of the course

If you enclose the conduit, making a full box of prismarine instead of the frame, it will attack any drowned that are close to it. Just in case the tridents get too much.

Imagine a red inked glowing “EXIT” sign for the tunnel entrance after metro mayhem. On the other side of the metro that doesn’t have an opening the exit sign can point to the left.
