Your spot on Darren, they make me sick the way they go on. Like a lad said before, the CAA should just put a blanket law on these auditors. There just out for an argument and for viewers to watch and like them. STOP THE AUDITORS NOT THE GOOD LADS who want a drone to take stunning pictures like yourself. I haven’t followed yourself to be stopped by these idiots. I watch to learn and bide by the laws. No drones should be aloud over prisons, airports, police stations, industrial working areas, and offices. You don’t need pictures of these places.

You are correct but also so wrong at the same time, your frustration needs to be elsewhere not on those exercising their rights and evidencing how quick people moan about everything. As long as those individuals have a license, insurance and are not doing anything actually wrong then they are well within their rights to fly over a biscuit factory if that's what interests them or their audience. The problem we have is we are living in a time where our freedom's are being taken away not by so called auditors but by the Karen's who don't care if you are well within your right to do something they don't like it so they will ruin it by demanding the law is even more stricter. The solution is to increase fines for people that waste police time. Make the law require you have a CAA pilots license to buy a drone and to fly the drone via software checks. It's not hard to API the drones controller with the CAA and validate the pilot before take off. Also every flight is recorded and saved to cloud.

I took my Mini 3 Pro out to Santorini last week, I didn't fly it once, too close to the airport, didn't want to upset people on the beach, too windy... too built up, didn't want to spoil the sunset for others, whatever, no regrets, sometimes, you just have to pour a beer and realise there are times when you need to chill.

Almost all of the stories of drones shutting airports down or causing some issue wasn't a consumer drone. The media knows they can get more attention with BS headlines about malicious activity with drones. Then you have governments looking for more power using the BS stories to push regulation. There are always going to be stupid people doing stupid things, doesn't mean the governments need to regulate more. I don't think it has anything to do with "the actions of a few" - it is a national security concern because they are a Chinese company operating things that can spy on people and places. I love DJI and their products but if you are an honest person you have to admit there is huge potential for these things to be misused by the Chinese government, who are not very trustworthy so when they say "oh we aren't using DJI's data for anything" it's kinda like, yeah sure. That is the issue. I wish this wasn't the case because I don't want to give up my drone and I love some of their other products too, but I don't know how to solve this problem.

Sadly more than just a license is needed. In most places you need to get a permit for a specific day/time weeks or months in advance. That permit usually requires including insurance coverage for minimum $1,000,000 on upwards. The restrictions (regardless of one's registration, license, and part 107) essentially make it cost prohibitive to operate a drone legally. That's how they are going to kill legitimate drone usage by making it cost the operator $$$. Ultimately all these restrictions will really do is kill off those of us that want to abide by the laws leaving those that don't care about laws to flourish and continue with the drone flight abuse. I have a Mini 4 Pro under 250g and it's potential to hurt anyone or any structure or vehicle is close to zero (collision sensors would prevent it).

You need do get free lincense (compliting online test), then you have to use special app to get permission to fly it in diffeent zones (poland is splited with many difrent drone zones with different regulations). If you want to fly in more restricted zones (for example cities) you have to get more linceses (they cost around 100-150 usd so they are quite affordable). This system works amazing. We don't have any issues flying drones anywhere if we are legally allowed to fly the drones and have the requirements of FOCA duly fulfilled. Amazon wants consumer drones out of the air space which they consider to be there. And they want to make sure that consumers can’t compete with them for Drone delivery which would be very easy without banning consumer drones. It has nothing to do with safety, and like the FAA here in the US they are having people in the UK fill out forms not because they have any intention of changing their minds, but to get an idea of how many of you are out there. Once just as they did here in the US they know how many of you there are, and that the base is relatively small. They will go ahead with everything that they intend to do. this is where we were a year or two ago, thinking that we had made an impact when we didn’t even make a dent. Now remote ID in the US begins next month in September and it will be official. Politicians need to be confronted about their partnership with companies like Amazon and Walmart and UPS and FedEx! It needs to be confronted and even if it is it may not do anything. But that is the reason these rules are coming up and he has to go is to have consumer drones removed from the airspace. In fact, DJI is now releasing their own delivery drones, and guess what they’re not allowed to be sold in the US! 🤔 Gee, I wonder why? Look for the same result to show itself in the UK. Again, it has absolutely nothing to do with safety or concerns of voyeurism! Amazon and Company’s like it which are part of a group called the commercial drone alliance they have the money to influence. Politicians knows exactly what’s going on over here in the US. In fact, a US drone company called Skydio reset Lee got out of the consumer drone business all together. Completely alienating everyone who bought their drones. Gee, I wonder why? Politicians or the government are using safety as an excuse to get DJI drones in eventually all drones used by consumers out of the air space that they want to use for themselves. Don’t fall for it!

When drones started to be popular and occasionally there were stories of people abusing the then regulations many in the none drone community said that the few will spoil it for the many and the knock on effect would not just be drone flying. And so it has come to pass. The few have spoiled it for the many, the tragedy being many of those have found a new shiny thing so it no longer involves them, the rest of us though now carry the burden. 🙁

Darren, in the nicest way possible, I think you've misunderstood why these drone regulations are being tightened - The CAA are not tightening regulations due to misuse, this is all about money. Take the Gatwick airport issue as an example which you did raise in your video. Lots of "sightings" but not one shred of evidence of an actual drone. The police went on a witch-hunt against two local drone enthusiasts and the media piled on, but in the end the police had to pay £200k in compensation to the couple because the case was built on nothing. So what really happened? In order to understand that you have to follow the money as always - Which leads right back to the company who then provided a load of useless anti-drone technology to various airports. Time and time again there are reports of things which didn't happen, "sightings" and unconfirmed "near misses" - All to clear the airspace from our hobby or to line the pockets of some organisation. (These drone delivery companies who have a product which is unviable, but are really trying to position themselves to provide the next drone ATC system) The people who abuse the airspace and get caught are just a happy accident to those trying to clear the airspace, they just help build up the media frenzy. We're losing our hobby and there's not a single thing we can do about it thanks to corruption.

Going out on a limb here: people knock the auditor types flying over industrial sites, but a couple of them are producing massive local archive footage for the future that is going to be historical interest and a unique record of some areas and historians in the future. I can think of two who also show great examples to the rest of us how to politely deal with misinformed Karens and even manage to swing situations into getting proper guided factory tours half the time which they film and even help promote he company, with viewers commenting on how great the company was, and well done to them for that. These are rare on youtube admittedly. The majority of them are knobs though. But these are the only people this industrial archive footage is seemingly coming from right now. Ok so they need the revenue from clickbait confrontation, which is more the fault of social media itself. Just my 2 cents worth and only a humble personal opinion. I got my own drone to archive the changing locality here, which is changing rapidly. Not to make cinemtic feature films of beauty spots where everyone else is videoing, although there is nothing wrong with that if that's what you want it for. We use our drones for all sorts of things in our videos, for example flying at below head height to film street graffiti because we can get a smoother pans and zooms using the drone rather than using gimbals. especially when we are on rough ground, to filming local beach activities such as windsurfing. I can't speak for Darren but as long as you aren't putting anyone at risk then I don't see why you wouldn't use it that way. If it was my work place or private area I would be asking them why they are filming, I would ask if they were scoping the area out to see if there was anything valuable and then casually mention that I should report it to the police as a precaution in case of any thefts in the near future. Last I heard, in the US, if you intend to make money off of your drone video, you are required to be licensed by the FAA. I ordered the books for a course I intended to take to get that license, and I was surprised of how in-depth they went...for flying a small drone 20 feed of the ground. My first thought was that gee, might as well get my full pilot's license. Given the rise of the new regulatory class in DC, I give it just a few years before you will need a full pilots license to fly a drone at all. As far as why, it really doesn't matter. See, it seems that drones can be programmed to have limits, such as altitude, speed, and whatnot. In other words, you should be able to make a consumer drone that is limited to the height of a ladder or say a two-story building. So, why wouldn't the FAA consider limits on capability for consumer grade drones versus other? Instead of saying that people need a license simply because they may sell the video taken from the drone is ludicrous. It is overreach. They could just as easily say that you need a license to fly a drone capable of flying above a specific altitude, for example, but it seems that they don't...or won't. (Am I right?) To me, this is almost the equivalent of the FAA telling someone they need a pilot's license for flying a kite simply because the person holding the string wants to take a picture of it for profit. Anyhow, the misuse of drones seems more of an excuse to push heavy, nonsensical regulations rather than a call to realistic actions that would more accurately access the risk and make sensible industry changes.

Exactly,just because there's no restrictions, doesn't mean you can fly just to piss people off,if I was doing these videos I'd approach the company and seek permission,that way we're both cool about it.i can fly a 249g in street,but I don't,no need to,even though I'm legal to do so

So. If my drone is over 249g, let's say if I install the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus on my Mini 3 Pro, can I print a registration number & stick it on my drone or still not allowed to fly it?? Then. What do I have to do, exactly, if my drone goes over 249g? And what about my registration certificate & TRUST test proof?
@Original-q11
@Original-q11 8 ай бұрын
It's above 250g , if you go above this weight you then have a new set of stricter rules to go by along with the test to do. You have to have your operators ID on the Drone regardless of weight. 🔴 A side note -The standard DJI mini 3 batteries inserted into the Mini 4 will push the weight over 250g to 253g.

Great video and timely content. As with anything, it only takes a few knuckleheads to spoil the fun. I see the 250 gram exception going away, requiring everyone to be licensed to fly. Maybe not a bad thing as it would separate those who are responsible from the rest.

The auditors are not my cup of tea but it's no big deal what they are doing. Just ignore and do not interact with them. The trouble is, there is always a Ken or Karen who wants to moan about nothing. A load of hot air. I shake my head. There are more important things to worry about in life.
@ShaneInseine
@ShaneInseine 9 ай бұрын
You missed the point. The "auditors" are pushing to the boundaries of what is and is not technically legal and all that does is educate the government on how to write laws that will deal with those behaviors. You can ignore all you want, but if they keep doing it, laws will be written to address what these auditors say is legal. They are technically correct about where the laws are today, but laws are updated constantly to deal with misbehaving people. So by pushing the boundaries, they will force new laws to be written that constrict the ability to fly more and more.

It is no accident that DJI monopolise the market. You have to bear in mind DJI is totally sponsered and controlled by the CCP and was not created to make money. The CCP saw it as a way to gather mass intelegence in the West (it also has applications for the military as demonstrated by Ukraine) and so invested massively in it's developement and reducing it's cost. Parts of your DJI drones firmware and hardware note your drones location and if it is somewhere the CCP is interested in the data is earmarked to be sent to servers in China. So in essence the public in the West are coereced into spying on their own nation by the CCP offer of a cheap drone. This may sound like a nefarious conspiracy theory but if you wish to understand the actions of the CCP, nefarious should definitely be a driving factor. So next time you fly your drone over a nuclear power station, oil refinery, port, any military installation etc etc and after you have uploaded the footage your pc seems at bit busy you know why!
