Regarding the rear mounting clips. My guess is that an engineer made a mistake thinking it had to be done for the seat to clip because of the added 2 inches but turns out it didn't and the communication to the assembly line to stop adding it was never done. That's the only thing that makes sense to something add that was never used.

Hi Mark I have an idea for the convertible challenge seat mounts and seat belt mount could of the seat designed to be put 2 inches forward and leave the space behind seat for a different design convertible top that was never released maybe production costs

I have installed convertible tops for 30 years on all makes and models'. The only consideration on a convertible would be the placement of the back rest. Because there is a bow height measurement so that the back glass will clear the backrest. Other wise you could break the back window. The seat bottom moving forward would not mater. Maybe a poor consideration by the engineers.. Interesting.

I have restored many very rusty cars. I weld metal panels or patches, filler is to take out small imperfections. I always take a lot of pictures. I give the customer a full set of pictures and keep copies for myself. I like that you also document what is original and what is replaced.

I can easily tell you why the seat mounting clips they had two different seats one was shorter than the other. The assembly your looking at was a part that was used for both models and were used for both the Challenger and Cuda. You can thank Chrysler engineering for this mystery lol.

All I want to see is car stuff! Whoever the person is (who is definitely not a car enthusiast), who wants to put this kind of stuff into the shows, should rack off. I can’t watch this crap.
