My husband and I just celebrated our 13 year wedding anniversary and we have been together 20. I am honestly married to my best friend. I love him now more than ever. I couldn't imagine wanting an open marriage even a little bit. The fact that we love each other and value our commitment is such a beautiful thing. This happened to me too. My wife of 18 years decided that having a good job, a 15 year old son and faithful working husband for 18 years wasn’t enough. She started to want to go out at night, started dressing better and posting pictures up on social media looking for attention. After arguing for a few months about her wanting new found freedom, she suggested us breaking up and just living as roommates. I just couldn’t do that so she left and now we just co-parent our son.

I think she picked the wrong guy. They were together for 18 years but only married for 9? Sounds like he didn't want to marry her in the first place, but she eventually wore him down. The moral of the story: Open marriages fail. You can't just decide to avoid having feelings when you sleep with somebody. If the chemistry is there and you make it start pouring hard, you can't push a button and shut it off. It will overwhelm you.

I normally don't feel the need to comment, but i see the pain.. and it's sad to think that this message might desensitize people to what loyalty and cheating means. I'm not talking about morals or their choices because as i said i'm not judging. What i was focusing on is the fact that today the meaning of cheating is getting blurried and blurried whereas i think it should be more important to raise awareness as to be mindful of other people feelings and trust towards us.

Saying that you are willing to try an open relationship with your spouse is saying that youre no longer satisfied in your relationship, and that you no longer care about his or her feelings. I would never EVER go for an open marriage. To be honest she deserved for this result, but part of me feels for this woman. She gave 18 years of herself, including her prime years. She was clearly unhappy because he didn't want children and she did. I really feel for her in that sense. Definitely handled it the wrong way but still a sad story for her. Shouldn't have settled for someone who didn't want the same things as she did. I feel like deep down she is a good person. This is tough. Hope she finds happiness.

She is a liar if she thinks this works it does not work. I have been married for 22 years I have never cheated on my wife nor do I want to. We work at our marriage on a daily basis and thank God himself we have overcome some rough times. These times have made us stronger and that Bond would be destroyed if she or I were sleeping around with other people.
