Unfortunately poor Fern is not faring well. His legs are so malformed his mother has resorted to editing them in photos. It is highly speculated that he is suffering from rickets from lack of nutrients, and/or hip dysplasia from incorrect baby-wearing. He can barely take more than 2 steps without his legs buckling underneath him and toppling over. He's been walking for about a year now and it's only gotten worse with time. He is also almost 2 and his only words are "no" and "oh". His mother is not seeking professional help for any of these issues. Alice has failed him on every level, her neglect is astonishing... and thats only what she posts online.

That's... beyond evil. To do that to a child because of one's own selfish, erroneous beliefs is pure evil. And like you said, there's no telling the actual extent of Fern's health problems because it's not like we live with them. Probably going to look into this woman --- sorry, she doesn't deserve that title; I meant miscreant --- but I'm desperately hoping that Fern is at least alive and removed from her custody. Not sure if his condition will ever be reversed, it sounds pretty severe already. Thanks for the info.

My dad had similar beliefs to this women. I got the flu, which went untreated and developed into scarlet fever. My parents are no longer together because maybe, just maaaaybe, you shouldn’t lock your kid in a closet when they’re sick because “survival of the fittest”. I also have permanent lung damage due to extensive exposure to smoke and pneumonia which, again, went untreated. But hey, I was breastfed so I’m sure I would have pulled through in the end. Edited to mention that it wasn’t cigarette smoke, I was in charge of setting up fires for cooking and stuff. Also I bathed in a lake which was neat.

@@hauntedbear I’m a lot better now. My parents split up when I was pretty young, and after my sister and I turned 18 we went no contact for a while. Luckily that seemed to show my dad that we weren’t just being ‘negatively influenced’ by our mom. He’s doing a lot better now. I’d like to say that growing up surrounded by nature was actually really nice. I loved playing in rivers and running around in the woods. I’m sure this mom has all the best intentions, but even my dad made sure I wasn’t eating rocks. It’s obvious she loves her kid, and I hope she can change before her relationship with her son is forever damaged.

@@misskirika2043 I'm so happy that you enjoy nature as it honestly gives you benefits both in mental and physical health. And you're right! I hope the mother sees what she's doing to the poor baby and maybe stop feeding him dirt. Eating vegetables and fruits ARE highly encouraged since it gives you benefits (grew up in that kind of household) but to go out of the line and feed the kid rocks to get "closer" with nature is messed up and needs serious interruptions. Also, I may have come a bit harsher to your father so I apologize in advance....
@afooz
@afooz 11 ай бұрын
OBVIOUSLY locking your child in a closet isn't okay for obvious reasons so i don't really need to explain it any further but what feels even more wrong about the justification is that. well not only does survival of the fittest literally not even mean that everyone should die except the most physically strong but also. if your father is really such a freak for nature, then he should know there is evidence that the earliest humans took care of their sick and disabled and genuinely wanted them to survive. our nature as social creatures is helping our fellow humans live healthily. i think that survival of the fittest should include helping others because that would prove we're such a fit species that even our most troubled members are able to live. i dunno sorry for the mini rant

“Antibiotics are baby poison”. At 1 month old i started developing a cough and started coughing up flemme to the point of choking. My mother took me to my pediatrician multiple times and he refused to check me and labeled my mother ‘crazy’ in his charts. At 2 months old I had an infection in my lungs that if my mother hadn’t taken me to the ER would have killed me. The pediatrician that took care of me in the ER reported the other doctor (he lost his practice) and became my full time pediatrician. I understand what she means by pediatricians who don’t listen to the parents because me and my mother are testaments to that but she didn’t stop trusting the system because of one bad egg and that choice saved my life. If I hadn’t gotten antibiotics and treatment I would have died. Medicine has come so far and to ignore it because of an exception to the rule is insane. I hope that child never needs urgent medical care if not only because I know she would never get them the help they need.

I mean a lot of people would question a lot of my parenting because both of my kids & i are autistic & that comes with a lot of stuff most people cant relate to or understand, we’re even delaying vaccinations for now while we’ve been remaining on lockdown thanks to Covid because my kids have so many allergies & horrible reactions to everything, & i usually defend other moms right to parent how they feel is best to the very end because of how we’ve been treated & questioned (mostly by family) because of this & the trauma that’s caused for us, but I’m only like 5 minutes into the video & at the *very least* - I’m afraid fern will choke on a freaking rock or wood-chip while shes filming,…… or get *really* sick from the steam water,… she could be safer about all of this & achieve the same results she thinks are beneficial without taking half the risk.. that makes it hard for me to believe shes doing all of this out of love & because she believes its whats truly best,.. along with the fact that she’s making public announcements about all of it knowing that CPS could easily get involved if they keep getting call after call- its hard for me to imagine being okay with taking that risk along with all of the extra extra unnecessary risks like filming instead of sitting right there with Fern to make sure she doesn’t put a whole rock or stick in her mouth & for this still to be coming from a place of unselfish love,…i could he wrong but it seems more like its coming from a place of ego or desire to spark controversy or something,..maybe it began completely out of love but now i think other factors may be effecting her mindset as well,…

In the past she’s talked about being traumatised from a c-section. Since Fern passed naturally I’m guessing the other baby didn’t make it (or she lost custody). An experience like that can very much cause things like becoming radical anti-modern-medicine. Birth trauma is the biggest risk factor in post-partum depression, which to me is the worst disorder someone can get. It can destroy a victim to the point of killing their own children. She seems like she needs serious mental help and Fern needs to be assigned to a legal guardian. Birth trauma is extremely serious and she shows alarming signs of child endangerment. She seems to genuinely believe she’s loving and protecting her child through the harm she does.

I don't think anyone was asking for this but they have actually been studies done on how to give your baby a better immune system and it's not by feeding them rocks and dirt. One of the number one best ways is to give your kid a pacifier and if they drop it and it gets dirty just lick it off with your own mouth it's a really gross way to boost the kids immune system but it's not deadly.

Ooh I was looking for a comment like this! I hate how much people shame those who formula feed their children. Breastfeeding is ideal, but formula is an adequate alternative. Both my brother and I were formula fed and turned out just fine. We both have a good immune system because of genetic and environmental factors that seem more important than whether or not we were breastfed or formula fed. I can only imagine the lectures my mother got for something beyond her control.

Their breast milk just doesn't have the proper nutrition. I either have to encourage them to supplement properly or change their diet. Women who can't breastfeed has nothing to do with their diet. My boyfriend got seriously injured in his chest area when he was a teen. He couldn’t go to the hospital because of how the injury was sustained so when it got lightly infected he decided to just wait it out without any antibiotics. Within less than a day or so it spread from his abdomen to his lungs and heart. The only reason why he is still alive today is because his friends decided to check in on him, when he didn’t answer they kicked in the door and called an ambulance for him. They were convinced he was dead because of how bad it was. It took almost a month for him to recover from it to the point where he could breathe by himself again. People not taking things like infections seriously just shows how little suffering around illness they have experienced in their life.

This is incredibly sad. How privileged are we as a society that we think vaccines and antibiotics are a bad thing? How privileged are we, that we dont see 80% of our children die before they reach the age of ten? I'm all for not sanitizing every inch of your home and letting your child explore, but people need to realize that the medical progress we have made for the sake of our children is incredibly important and we need to make use of it. I'm a nurse and we get these people in the hospital every now and then. As soon as her baby has a persistent fever or terrible cough, she's going to be in the ER to keep her baby from dying because she knows deep down that we're the only ones who know how to keep truly sick people from dying. As soon as her child is saved and is no longer on the brink of death, she will push back against the advice of every medical professional. She will demand that we figure out what happened and tell her how to prevent it while also refusing diagnostics and medicine/vaccination. They will never learn.
