@@-bdl2696 If he's worried about the sac 8 when it fights, doesn't it make sense to attack it before then so either they either trade the Obliterator for a sac 5 instead, or risk dying outright before it does its thing? They may not even be able to gang-block with the Obliterator because you can simply choose to assign all the damage to the non-Obliterator blockers to preserve your board for the next attack.

Oh man, CGB's comedic timing game was in top form today. 23:14 "I don't think they have another Farewell." 31:29 "See, where's your removal spell now...never mind." 🤣🤣 Also, the obligatory "missed lethal" alert. Technically you didn't "miss" lethal (technically correct, hey how about that 😁), but tapping the 1/1 token at 23:06 instead of the Scrapgorger for the one mana would have cost you lethal if they'd had removal there.

Really fun list, thank you for making it. Played it a bunch and I'm not sure what its good match ups are though, went about 50% win rate with it. When it works, it can definitely overrun a wide variety of decks fast if you're running hot. There were very few lists where a resolved Nissa could be stopped, really the all star of the list. She can single handedly win games if they can't immediately kill her. And a turn 5 Rex was often just a win because the ward couldn't be paid in time. Unfortunately, it's in an awkward spot in the meta game where you need a lot of things to go right with minimal disruption or drawing perfect since it really doesn't have a way to draw outside the fables. The decks I most consistently beat were superfriends decks because they lacked the ability to really stop your deck and just played to the board worse. Black based decks killed my dorks very consistently the ramp has trouble taking off, or invoke despairs just being a huge swing if they tag a fable and planeswalker. Sheoldred or Phyrexian Obliterator just had no game against. Most often died to card advantage, bank busters and invoke despairs just burying you. Rakdos similarly a nightmare match up, they kill everything that hits the board and grind out the win unless you can overwhelm their early resources. Mono red is a very tough match up, a mechanized infantry can just be game over and since many of the lower curve creatures have 3 or less toughness, they eat lightning strikes. Or you spend turn 3 casting awaken the woods to die on the crack back or lose all the forests you just made blocking. Blue white based control just brutal unless you had the Rex or a resolved Nissa. Wandering emperors and board wipes, tough to beat again unless you had the Rex or Nissa. And if soldiers gets ahead of you and they land some brutal cathars you can just be run over. Weirdly one deck that was almost an auto loss was big white decks if they played Phyrexian Vindicator and board wipes. Phyrexian Vindicator is just a hard blow out to this deck as all the removal is damage based. Only way around it is going wide then Nissa ulting into a huge strike as your best creature will do no damage and then often kill itself or something else you value, allowing the vindicator to 2 for 1 you. I was thinking about how to make it better against the bad match ups, and it definitely needs some more game against spot removal and 3 damage spells. Topiary Stomper and awaken the woods are a great combo using the token lands to make it into a blocker or attacker while ramping real lands. If they kill the Stomper, not a huge deal as you get the land permanently and has a lot of upside as a 4 toughness wall. Maybe some more land based ramp to really lean into not being as vulnerable to getting your board blown up. Thirsting roots isn't a bad option since this deck often does nothing on turn 1. Grabbing a land is a good way to start the game and the proliferate isn't nothing with the amount of counters the deck has. And land based ramp would make Nissa's Ult more consistently a win, it can sometimes be very ineffective if you don't draw your basics or get off an awaken the woods. Also was thinking about Defiler of Vigor. It does a lot of things this decks wants. 5 mana 6/6, so a wall against aggro decks you can effectively ramp to. Casting green permanents which is almost all your deck pumps your dorks out of range of damage based removal and into effective blockers and attackers. The ability to turn green mana symbols into phyrexian mana is a pseudo ramp effect if you have the life to spare. Dodges cut down. Not great against other spot removal and counters, but otherwise could fill a role. Worth thinking about maybe putting in some amount of Cityscape levelers to go after phyrexian vindicators, obliterators, and Atraxas which are otherwise very tough to beat. Maybe going down 1 titan and rex for 2 cityscape levelers. I also tried this with green sun's twilight, and if you can cast that for 5 or more early that can just be lights out if you land your top end plus a land. But it doesn't hit enough at that range, I think if you went that way you'd have to increase the creature density at the expense of the fables, planeswalkers, or the Careful Cultivations so that you are consistently hitting something game ending. This deck is also a good candidate for chaotic transformation. Turn treasure into Cityscape Leveler, Luuka into Nissa, one saga into another, regular lands into creature lands, dorks into Titan of Industry or the Rex. Maybe not better as a deck, but for sure a wild ride if it hits.

Do this exactly except......make it mono green. Put in Gwenna for mid ramp instead of mirror breaker. Some Gala greeters and Azusa's Journey's for faster early ramp than mana dorks. (Keep the awakens) And of course remove the Planeswalker. Now you have a lower to the ground style green ramp that is less dependent on creature board state for mana. I also use Titiana's command and Zopandrel for a better bomb than just 1 huge creature. It's a more robust finishing style. Many games I am swinging for 40+ damage on turn 6 as my first attack.

Oh, this video is the reason I keep seeing this in my MTGA matches now... I was wondering what was going on. Sadly for me I'm too poor to afford 18 mythics so just play cheap Red decks that all tend to run End the Festivities and/or Vampires' Vengence to clean up soldier and toxic decks. Luckily they work just as well at eating up swarms of mana dorks. 🤣 "You cant hold down us phyrexian planeswalkers. We have too much text!" But if I could afford these cards I'd play this just for that.

There's no way this is better then my mono green ramp with green suns twilight and that barely maintains 90% mythic. Though the planeswalker adds some interaction, losing all your ramp to sweeper and no board presence is a huge blind side. Land ramp creatures at least leave the land behind and splashing a couple non creature enchantments for card draw etc keeps it running and green sun twilight hits your big baddies without lucky draws.
@lucky6666
@lucky6666 Жыл бұрын
Ok, so I think I was mostly right on this comment except one thing. Fable is worth it to run "gruul" hah. I tweaked this deck to remove the planeswalkers cause all I was getting was superfriends matchups with them and so I could run green sun twilight. In place of the Lukka I ran Bramble Wurm which is just a mini titan and more for green sun to hit. I took out the careful cultivation cause it's a non creature and replaced it with the boar. Turns out awaken the woods is still super good without nissa but I don't get the 100 damage swings where awaken is followed by a full power nissa 😂. It's now mono green gruul only for fable... yeah fable is that good. Gonna try adding zopandrel instead of bramble. Maybe just 1-3 though too. Up to 95% so fable brought it from 90 to 95% basically heh.
@lucky6666
@lucky6666 Жыл бұрын
My mostly mono green got beat by atraxa so I added atraxa. Added Luka back in so atraxa had a planeswalker to draw and added 3 Gwenna instead of 4 boar so I could more possibly hard cast atraxa. The Zopandrel is kicking ass as a one off. Just won with a 2 atraxa hand with good ramp, drew the third, so I knew for sure my green sun would hit the 4th and it did. She got killed instantly but the damage was done. Second green sun hit zopandrel. GG.

thats incorrect. trample works just fine with death and against deathtouch.
