I’m so happy he’s okay (from what I know). It would kill me to see anything happen to him, I can’t imagine how you felt. I haven’t even met him and I’m dying. Also, POV: you turned on notifications just to make sure a horse you’ve never even met is ok

Esme, you inspire me to do so much more to my little barn and with my horse and donkey! My horse has a diagnosis that will lead to inevitable laminitis so I am finding ideas to include him in as many things as possible! Your happiness and positivity is so contagious and I thank you for bringing us along. I am 28 and just bought a home with a barn fresh out of graduate school and life is amazing! I’m so glad you share your amazing life with us all!

Jeez I mean, shouldn't helping your horse heal from an injury be the standard? It shouldn't make you a great equestrian to do the right thing. It's so sad how common it is for an equestrian to just throw a horse away when they get hurt.

I hope Joey is recovering well. From the thumbnail he looks a little frisky! Rehabbing after injury is a really challenging time. Getting back into the routine of riding can be especially hard. At least he is out and about more so now! All the best for you and all your horses!

hello esme you have made the best horsey videos ive watched plus i have a horse myself and ive took tips and tricks to help me and its has made my riding so much better i used to have a fear of cantering no stirrups but since i watched your bareback video i wannted to try it and now i dont have a fear , youve help me grow my confidence in riding because once i lost my confidence after i fell off and youve help me grow it back so thank you so much

Joey reminds me so much of my own 5yo, the facial expression, the sweetness. He was also injured in December, luckily not as bad but he was on stable rest for two weeks as well and every time I came for mucking out he tried to jump over the wheelbarrow the moment I pushed it through the door, just to escape. I understand how hard it is to have a horse you love so much injured. I hope he get's better soon!

My horse Edward REFUSES to get groomed and tacked up without something sturdy to chew on. Due to this, I will do a little makeshift thing in his stall with his lead rope hanging down. Before this, it was exhausting to find someone with free time just so they could hold little baby Edward's chewing rope lol

6:17 The view from horseback never gets old🥰 i miss it so much, because of covid the horseback riding school i went to shut down and no other stables are in my area so i had to quit. I miss it so much and am living vicariously through these videos as you ride and just love love love the view of the green from horseback❤️😄 it never gets old🥰

Joey did so good! My friend's TB mare was on 6 week stall rest and the second her hooves touched grass she went straight up, all four feet off the ground, kicked out, smacked a tree. Completely exploded. We thought she'd traded a back injury for a leg injury but luckily she and her handler were ok!

Hi Esme, at the barn i work we often let the more excited horses chew on lead ropes because letting thier energy out on that is sometimes better than by jumping like he did at the end. Just some advice and since it was such a small short thing im sure it didn't bump his recovery!

i had a similar situation happen with my horse yesterday morning he got caught in the fence and is currently on stall rest and at the vet, so happy for joey and that he's doing so well!! ❤❤

My only concern is the thumbnail and him rearing up, since the injury was to his front leg. That it put strain on it possibly? Have a five year old mare recovering from a SL tendon strain injury. It’s not the same, but I know you said the cut just missed his tendons. So I’m being a horse mom and no he is not mine, still would be careful even if he was. Hope everything went well in the long run that day.
