I don’t think that’s the issue. He was a predator and wanted a young girl to manipulate. Unfortunately, she was 16, and could choose to leave home if she wanted, and she did. Where I live, you can leave school at 15 and date whoever you want at 16 without issue.

In 2011, a lady was held hostage in her bedroom, and tortured by her boyfriend She had her fingers, nose, and jaw broken, and when she still refused to get back with him, he gouged out her eyes, with his fingers, so that she could not see her children again, and then held her in that bedroom for days. It only seems bad because true crime hosts always make the victims out to be saints or angels and are missed by their loved ones. @@lilithdvs13 Well I know some people don't watch these shows if theres no mention of the victims. And honestlyno one ever thinks victims are angels, I notice a lot of people comments like this recently though "They weren't so innocent". No mammal on this earth including humans are innocent. But victims of a killing are victims of a killing. The stories these crime channels tell aid in establishing that they were indeed human- where we indeed would be desensitized to these situations in daily life. I know I watch these things to understand warning signs of future situations and for equal entertainment of seeing the satisfaction of something horrific not being a cold case.

@@milanloranger8372 DV creates the overwhelming majority of all monsters. Whether a person comes from generations of Family violence or they were born to a broke parent who did everything I could to shield the child from reality- it doesn't matter what made them be that way in the first place if they are that type of person in a culture that doesn't hesitate to do something. The psychology of DV isn't malleable like culture and awareness can be. I think it's long past time we have discussions about how although it's nobody's fault but the abusers, we all need to feed energy and awareness into a massive campaign for people who see, hear, or suspect DV to determine what the best way to help is, and then take action. Gather evidence if that's within their own rights. Open their minds to accept that abuse is absolutely saturated in at least the roots of most crimes. People need to know how abusers in general are created, and why it's true that even if these lessons became part of international public curriculum, many abusers would still get people in their grasp tightly & all the education in the world can't make it safer, or even possible to leave when abuse rears its head. If every single person understood the mechanisms, and these infectious advertising companies used their powers for good instead of evil lol, we could put a huge dent in the "minding my own business" attitudes, and really begin to change feelings & behaviors which aren't bad natured, but leave neighbors and Friends feeling the worst survivor's guilt known to humanity many, many times, daily... It can really dull the doubts and stigma around pointing out the maltreatment of others or calling places on the behalf of people who need help.

For whoever might need to see this: If someone who is supposed to love you hits you, puts their hands on you, regularly takes their anger out on you...they hate you. There is no love or desire there. There's nothing sexy about it. It isn't that he "just wants me so much he has to control me". You are an object to them, nothing more. I’m not excusing anyone here but this was over 25 years ago and the world was a very different place. It was still common for rape victims to be blamed for “asking for it”. and there were no specific abuse teams in the police. Victims of domestic violence are often living in denial - it is easier than admitting the hell you are in - and close friends and family can find it very difficult to break through that denial; their own and that of the victims. As I said, I’m not excusing anyone but societal influences do add context. We are not accepting of 13 year old girls being married in most cultures today but it was common place at one time.

You will go to jail and it's over. No second chances." Also, choose wisely. I don't care if someone is gorgeous or there is chemistry, look for red flags. Nothing is worth any abuse. And I listen while I cook dinner. I'm not unsound or anything lol I just enjoy thoroughly researched cases because the psychology behind them fascinates me. My boyfriend suggested today that I'm fascinated because I've been through some stuff and I feel a need to understand, which I must say sounds plausible enough to me. Thanks for all the work you put in to this channel, it is much appreciated and I hope you are well paid!

I used to work with her mum who has since sadly passed a couple years ago🤍 Another two cases from Hattersley are; Dale Cregan. Killed 2 female officers outside my nana and grandads house on Abbey Gardens. And of course the Moors murders - my mums late father was given a cd player and a stand from Ian and Myra (before it came to light the awful things that they did or before it even happened) *edited to add that I have since spoke to my mum and it was a radio not a cd player and my gran made him throw it out once the awful things that they did were discovered*

The targeting of teenage girls by older men as a way of asserting dominance over them, to isolate them as a power move, reminds me of some of Andrew Tate’s sick ideology. Tate has openly admitted that he very much prefers to target 18 year olds because he can “make an imprint” on them, according to videos he posted online. It’s part of his way of seizing control, financial and otherwise, in the relationship.

Unfortunately the reality is when you’re enduring physical abuse, your thoughts are not “my parents love me”, it’s usually the opposite. You’re wondering if you’re going to die and no one will even care, because no one seems to care enough to save you in those moments. Even if it’s not true. That’s part of how an abuser keeps you there, making you believe you’re not loved by anyone. And we often are susceptible to ending up in an abusive relationship because of our own relationship with our parents, and the dynamics at play there. People will sometimes even choose to stay with an abusive partner rather than return to their parents house, and there doesn’t necessarily have to be physical abuse present in the parental household to cause that. Sometimes it’s unrealized emotional and mental abuse that the parent or parents are perpetuating that pushes that choice. Not saying that’s what happened here, but it does happen.

I know many people won't agree, but her parents do shelter some of the blame. From the moment I started hearing "she was mature for her age," I cringed. Mature or not she was fourteen and her actions after getting some freedom show that while she was relatively mature compared to other 14 year Olds she was still a child. It appears that she was in a relationship for 2 years before her family met the "boy". They knew there was a boy but wanted to give her space? Her mother called the so called boy and he said he was concerned about her child's delinquency. This is just crazy to me. As much as we don't want to victim blame the parents the reality is they didn't do enough. When predators (men or women) choose young persons yes apart from scoping out their target they often try to get a feel of the family to determine the level of control they can exert and what they can get away with.

this sounds like my ex- monster. He was the coolest, sweetest, most normal, reliable, responsible, loving person - at first. He had us all fooled - me, my fam, my friends, co-workers - everyone. After a few months, he began coming apart at the seams - he was increasingly jealous (for absolutely no apparent reason, whatsoever) tried to turn me against everyone I ever knew or loved, was not only physically abusive, but mentally, as well. He was damn good at it all, making it all seem like it was my fault. I came home from work one night and he was hiding behind the door - i came in and he slams the door. That was it for me - he tore all of my clothes off & begins examining my body, smelling me, swearing that I was cheating on him - at work!? A fight ensues, he beats me soo bad, I looked like I went three rounds with Mike Tyson. I couldnt walk for a week, I couldnt leave the house for three weeks. That was the last straw.I still have scars, deaf in one ear, blood mark in one eye. I started packing my things and hiding them in one of my closets. He went to work one morning - I packed up my things, my cat, my guitar - I moved three states away, havent contacted anyone from my old life since, and never looked back. And I never will. I'm deathly afraid that after all this time, he will still come after me. Hes sick like that. Word to the wise - If you ever get that gut feeling that something isnt right - trust your instincts AND RUN LIKE YOUR FEET ARE ON FIRE. Dont let them connive & bs their way back in, bc it will only get worse. Be safe out there, everyone. Take care. xo

Sadly David the abuse is insidious , they chip away at your confidence and have already isolated you from anyone you might have been able to confide in. It's very complex and the brain washing is very difficult to overcome.
