Your tip with "breaking in" the USD bolts before installing is valuable for a lot of skate hardware- particularly Roces soulplate hardware. This needs to be done because the bolts have threadlock (loctite) applied long before they're installed, which means they have a big thick strip of solid loctite along the threads, which impairs screwing them into the nut AND means the loctite can't really do its job as it is only bonded to one piece of hardware (instead of being bonded to both pieces and thus preventing loosening). Ideally you should be applying new threadlock when you install the hardware, so it can bond them together. What I do for my cuff bolts is mix equal parts permanent (usually red) and normal (usually blue) loctite in a bottle cap, and then apply that with a q-tip when assembling. This gives me a really strong bond that hasn't ever loosened on its own for me, but I can still get it out if needed, with a nice sharp wrench and some heat. I'm not one to change cuffs really though, so if you're one of those people who just have to match your cuffs to the day's ensemble, well, not the best choice.

Why can't you adjust lateral alignment of cuffs on inline skates, like you can for ski boots? My lower leg does not align with my foot vertically, but rather angles outward as you go up from the ankle, when my foot is level. Adjusting frames is all I see online, but that doesn't address this particular issue.
