Sob story incoming. My grandfather was a tinkerer just like you. He raced pikes peak, did formula Ford, shifter karts, etc. I'm 18 now, but By the time I was old enough to go have fun karting and doing stuff with cars, he was pretty far into heart failure. And as such. He passed away before i was able to spend some real time with him. At the time, i was pre-transition, meaning I'm transgender, and i didn't know it yet. He only knew me as a young boy. But he was my idol, and he never even knew who i really was. This is the stuff i would have done with him. And that experience would be worth it's weight in gold. All to say. I wish I could have had that experience with him. Some people say that kids don't want to do things with their hands, and only want to play video games and what have you. But We're here. I can name so many people who would love to get an old motorcycle going. I beg anyone interested to try and have some fun. Thanks for reading. -Rainer.

I’ve fixed many of those old Hondas. A set of rings and lap in the valves, timing chain and dial in the carb. Pull the right side cover off and clean out the sludge and the screen at the bottom. Good old bikes. Get an air filter tho

It definitely needs rings and a few other things but the wore out thing fires up with just a couple of kicks! Might see another episode of it one of these days.

IF you look, that drill bit WAS sparking... I mean, you're right about it just ensuring there's a ground, but look again that drill bit sparked between the tip and the motor!

Can't believe how good that stator looked after how the rest of the bike looked for sitting for 33 years! Always nice to see someone rebuild an engine/getting it running. I learn something every time and/or understand a little bit better as everyone has their own style. Great video!

In 1970 I got a Honda SL70 motorcycle! We just moved to a small town in Indiana! I bet I put a million miles on that little dirt bike, wrecked it 50,000 times to , nothing serious! All I ever did to it was points, plugs, change the earl , well besides fix flats an buy a new back tire ! I rode it year around And it was a 1 kick wonder or just put it in 1st. and push it half a foot an pop the clutch!!! That thing was so much fun !!!!!! Thanks for the videos !!! GOD BLESS !!!

Brought back a lot of Memories. Used to have a 125 oil injected 2 stroke Yamahammer.. Had more fun on the 125 but when I went to 250 2 stroke yz I hated the dam power ban and you had to go too fast to enjoy the ride. Bought a brand new 200 kawasaki 4 stroke that was on close out. I hated it and got stuck in a creek. It buried down past the axle and I could not get it out. I finally told a friend if he could get it out he could have it. I wanted no part of it anymore. It took him and three or four others two days to get it unstuck after it mud sucked it down further. I never looked back started riding three wheelers then bought the first Honda 200 four wheeler hi lo speed that was delivered to the dealer. It took me where ever I needed to go as a hunter for about ten years and many deer. Lots of wonderful memories with my son who died far too young. It keeps me alive watching your videos. Thanks friend you don't realize what you mean to others even though we have never met. We have a kindred spirit.

Little FYI, replace the damn screws with 8mm or 10mm headed bolts, massive time saver if you have to fix again. I usually have my assistant do that to all the old stock repairs. Chain is looking close enough to go. Never bad to replace just because. My 125 is Cdi, pretty easy to dial in. Just have to lube mechanical advance to keep it moving right. I love getting old salvage bikes, fix em up cheap put back em on the road, good rainy/ snowy day projects. Got a trailer full right now to do. Found a 84 Cr 500 and 83 Rm 500. Gonna be fun to play with before I send them. Take them out to Tomacs and play on his new track at his new place. Got one of his old Hondas here I've fixed. Oh well. Love the vid, enjoy what your doing.

The light at the bottom of your valve is the wight of the valve. If it was straight up and down you wouldn’t see light but because it’s not the rod is heavy enough to cock the valve to where you can see light from gravity

Enough light to leak compression and not run. I'm always on my mechanic assistant to spend the time to do it right. Having your own OHV repair business can be a challenge! Got a Raptor 660 were doing right now. Big bore to 686, needs all 5 valves in the head replaced and lapped.

The idea for making a battery for your motorcycle is something I might have to do myself. I have a cowasocky 175 but the only motorcycle battery I have is the one for my 1100. It’s way too big to fit in the battery spot but if I can put some of those fancy green batteries together I can make them fit in the spot. I’m getting a little excited about the idea

Before you go and hurt yourself, let me give you a little tech tip for towing a motorcycle. I've been riding dirt for 50 years and know just how dangerous it is to actually have a tow rope attached to a bike is. Ask me how I know.. What you do is take the rope and take a few turns around the handlebar and then hold the end on the left handgrip. Th!at way, when things go cowshit, you can let go!!
