I feel like if they take the dude's word for it off of his own timing device (that could be rigged for all they know) vs. their own official, professional timing devices that literally EVERYBODY ELSE (100+ people) is using, then that's just dumb and unprofessional IMO. That dude would get laughed off the track at any other professional racing event. Sadly, I can't say I'm surprised with it being 2021 and everybody crying about not getting their own way with everything. So sad. At least you're being the adult here and not complaining. It happens a phones internal gps is 1hz so it can be excessively off. A aim solo is always within a couple thousands of a second as it has a 10hz internal gps sensor. Not uncommon in many many organizations to accept a aim solo time in place of a failed transponder which unfortunatley does happen from time to time. Sundae cup isstupid closein times typically. I feel like if it were you that had a timing issue with failed equipment you would have expected Gridlife to do the same for you. It sucks that it went down that way and that no one caught it before hand. The only thing to do now is get faster and show everyone that you are meant to be on that podium.

Maaaaaan, I'm so upset for you, Dustin. That's really unfair that the GridLife staff didn't stick to the rules and you were robbed of 3rd place. If their transponder issued by GridLife wasn't working, why wasn't it addressed in the previous session? I'm sorry but I'm not on board with GridLife's decision. This just opens the door for future issues and possible time tampering.

hate to play devils advocate but an aim solo is extremely precise gps timer used by race teams around the world and most time attacks will accept an aim solo time. your cell phone is no where near as accurate as the transponder or aim. also, just a suggestion. seat time is crucial to improve your times! its hard to expect good results when your only seat time is the day of a competition. get some more seat time and im sure you'll start racking up the podiums!

Rules must be if transpoder failed to, they must be based on the last time match session. not based on who's closed time with other competitors. i race in underbone bike, most commonly issues is transponder. but thats why there is a SESSION getting your fastest time. grindlife rules must fixed. dustin deserve a place for this. or grindlife must put dustin as a wildcard competitor based for what happened, come on gridlife.
