incredible interview - he's so articulate here and seems so natural and at ease. I don't know if he's just familiar with BBC studios at this point in his life, or if the interviewer and support crew are exceptionally good at making people feel welcome and at ease, but the magic is happening here without contrivance and it is beautiful

He might be angry, but he sounds so much more at peace. Makes me happy.
@DulceAllanLobo9 ай бұрын
Anger is intrinsically connected to creativity. And I've always thought angry Thom makes the best music. That's why Harrowdown Hill is the best track on The Eraser. And that's why Hail to The Thief is my favourite Radiohead album. I think Kid A is the most aesthetically pleasing, wonderfully experimental and probably the most emotionally revealling Thom has been on a Radiohead album. However, Hail To The Thief is gloriously angry and coincidently where Radiohead were masters of their craft.

Thom has the kind of artistic courage that all creative people have. You make an album and take the best song and leave it out. If the album is still brilliant, you know you’re good. A case in point was the song I Promise. I can’t believe they thought it wasn’t strong enough. It’s that bravery which sets these people apart. Lennon and McCartney were the exception. Two geniuses in fierce competition who, because of basically discovering the God particle of music, were able to produce brilliant music at a rate that will never, ever be equalled. Nobody should try and copy them, just be yourself. I feel Thom has done this and has transcended into a genre all of his own.

My gosh, a kindred spirit. Music to me is the same. It's not something you just listen to, it's like the air we breathe. Without it, I wouldn't survive.

This band has brought me to tears I dared not feel or show. I’ve been on a desert island with them for years. God bless em’ I never knew I had so much in common…not near the weight but got a detached retina, sedated in a dark old children’s hospital room…Valium and managed to pry a Millennium Falcon out of it. Obsessed with tearing electronic apart. Lots of time alone. So much time, head between two large 70’s speakers. Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Tomita. What a story…..
