This is the effect Metal Music has on me. I'm like "Am I the only one around here that can hear how shite this pish is?" But everyone loves metal music and talks about how great it is. But it's terrible haha.
@ReadyMindsetGo
@ReadyMindsetGo 8 ай бұрын
@@childofthesun32 what metal have you listened to? If you got to an amateur death metal band performing live for the 1st time it's not likely to be as easy to appreciate as say... listening to Metallica's Black Album on a sound system you know...
@childofthesun32
@childofthesun32 8 ай бұрын
@@ReadyMindsetGo I wasn't meaning Metallica, I know that they're one of the first metal bands, but I think of them mostly as Hard Rock now, same with Black Sabbath. I'm talking about bands like Ghost, Gojira and Lamb of God or whoever the fuck else. I just find the music absolute terrible and there's barely even a melody there to hold it all together. But people talk about how amazing it is, and I just can't enjoy it at all. Maybe it IS difficult to play what they're playing, but who cares. Music shouldn't be an olympic sport about who can perform the most difficult feat - all that matters is the song sounds good.

@@theflyingcigar4370 Understanding where a piece of music came from MAY make you feel it, but NOT feeling it doesn't mean you don't understand it. Certain kinds of music fans are like the nerd trying to explain to the cheerleader why she should love him. The absolute most embarrassing thing this music fan likes to say when you don't like his music (and it is almost always a he) is "you show your ignorance."

You know what I actually really like this. It's really abstract and somehow uneasy with the way it presents itself. If the song is called Pop is Dead it makes so much sense, it's probably representing the quality of contemporary-pop within the eyes and ears of Thom Yorke. The haunting voice of his is really beautiful too. It's just very abstract and weird in the way it presents itself, disoriented, broken, yet haunting.

This song is so unbelievable. The beautiful chords in the middle, the chaotic playing of the piano (most likely Thom's place of mind), and the amazingly distant vocals. The industrial drumbeat clashing with the somber and dreadful piano could be a symbolization of something like nature and industrialization of society clashing together. Truly a musical genius.
