Thomas Freightliner FS65 First Student bus #16

This was one of the shuttle buses that traveled between Burnsville Senior High school and Metcalf Junior High before First Student lost the contract with the district at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. 3126 CAT. Not sure the model on the automatic transmission, (probably allison) but I like the rev limits.

There's a mix of Thomas, old Blue Birds, and IC busses in the Burnsville/Savage fleet, and things like first aid kits may get swapped on occasion for whatever reason.

the year 99-01 model in the thomas freightliner fs-65 is the best bus they made i like the sound of the motor it have that sound that its power under the hood.

I think its an Allison MD 3060 or Allison 2000 series for the transmission.

Last I knew about it, yes. The first student base that ran these buses is now defunct, since the high school switched contracts for the '12 - '13 year. Durham School Services operates a fleet of white top Visions now.

I like the sound of that 2001 freightliner fs65, how many people could that seat, I imagine it was a 10 or 11 row bus, possibly a 12 row

Looks like it's older than 2000 from the dashboard

This style of dashboard was used on these buses from 1997 to 2002.

Yeah, sorry. It was a very loud crowd in there. If your computer speakers don't have bass it'll be rather difficult to hear the engine.

i am used to those horse shoes for bus drop off why are they park that way @Kbilt92? That only if you know the answer it seem to be difficult just to get through that.

It seems to only happen with Cat engines. I've rode on C2's and FS-65's with Mercedes and Cummins engines and no annoying vibrations.
