Before you complain "OH MY GOSH HE'S SUCH A SHOWOFF" remember this is part of a drum video. He's using the techniques he's discussed in his instruction. He's not just showing off, there's a reason he's doing those 32nd notes on the kick.
@j.franknash89894 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't care if he was showing off, that shit is hot

The epitome of "control". You can tell by every hit he is an experienced session-drummer. Very impressive every time...
@agee2310 жыл бұрын
The noticeable difference between the accents and taps on his feet is amazing.
@BarefootAndrew10 жыл бұрын
Yes, looks like he plays taps heel down then goes heel up for the accents, staggering technical ability.
@the6ig6adwolf4 жыл бұрын
He's essentially playing ghost notes with his feet. Hella cool.
@FrenchRockNRolla713 жыл бұрын
To me this track is the ultimate guide to heavy metal drumming. You can hear so many fills, breaks or even patterns that any metal drummer must be able to play. I love drums, I love this track (or demo) and I'm a Thomas Lang fan!!!

The accented kick pattern is awesome!

The volume control he has on those kick pedals is absolutely nuts, I love how warm the tone is on them.

What a phenomenal drummer and an even better person!!! Thomas is a super nice guy. I love the sound of this acrylic kit. I may actually like it as much as his DW kits. 😊
@camwhite78086 жыл бұрын
I love being able to see the beaters hitting the bass drums through the acrylic. You don't often get to see this style of playing in that manner.

Its insane with his double kick! its sick that hes can add a single beat kick into a double kick with his right foot, and have his left still goign with the double. this guy can keep a beat better than a metronome

Totally agree he does have that metal edge that mangini lacks. . Mangini is fenomenal but he sounds like his drumset is mAde of a bunch of pringles cans and only marks the sticks, he do not bangs them like thomas
@channelbree6 жыл бұрын
plus Mangini studied same college as the other guys, just similar background. Thomas Lang is for me the undoubted top drummer on Earth right now.

One of the most technically proficient drummers I've ever seen... masterful! Watch closely for the way he accents certain beats with his right foot using both a "heel up" and "heel down" approach to produce this effect in the "chorus" sections!

But we both know, his blastbeat technique and his timing, is like the one of a clock. So I think it would not be really a challenge

Zero chance. Haake has more groove in his pinky on a Thursday night than Lang has in his entire career of playing.
