I'm a gunsmith. That brace CANNOT in any way be used or modified to be a bump stock or adjust the rate of fire of any weapon. These people are incredibly illiterate.

To shoot repeatedly, you pull the trigger again, if you wanna shoot fastee, you pull the trigger faster. No need to modify the furniture of the stock to "shoot repeatedly"

It's an embarrassment that our representatives put forward, vote on, and ultimately enact legislation on topics which they have no functional understanding. As frustrating as these few minutes are for anyone with basic mechanical knowledge, or even just the ability to imagine how mechanical assemblies work... This particular example is just the tip of the iceberg, the rest of the iceberg rides in thousand pages omnibus bills which 'have to be passed so we can know what's in it.' Most of these people, beyond the procedural aspect of how Washington operates, are beyond ignorant in every aspect of what they do, and how it affects us all.

I doubt that it will make any difference when the Dems learn what a pistol brace is/does. They are bound and determined to ban, ban, ban, never mind small details like "your reason for banning isn't valid". Remember, Dems are the party that wants to ban guns for having a collapsible stock (so my wife can shorten the stock to fit her arm length), a bayonet lug, or a barrel shroud.

I’m just confused about how many people have to die and of what cause in order for people to care? @@robinstewart6510 fired repeatedly? Any gun can be fired repeatedly. That has nothing to do with being elevated above other semi automatic guns regarding its speed of firing. The gun IS NOT moved during each round's discharge to quicken the pull of the trigger. The brace does not increase firing speed. That is the entire point that somehow has been missed again.

@@robinstewart6510 okay but look, assuming you're correct: everything can be modified to serve something other than its original intention. If I put armor and spikes all over my car it could become a weapon of destruction. Just because something could be modified doesn't mean you should make it illegal. This is an extremely slippery slope, not to mention a constitutionally protected right to bear arms. People aren't asking for automatic weapons, (even though you could make a reasonable argument that automatic weapons should be considered part the 2nd amendment rights), but we are demanding they stop encroaching on everything else.

@@robinstewart6510 which manufacturer? You do know that the pistol brace just a gun part right? SB, Tactical, KAK, Maxim Defense... what company are you talking about? You're absolutely wrong. It's funny because you're aggressively doubling down on something you made up or saw a meme about and it's not based in reality or anywhere even close. A pistol brace is sometimes used as a stock. Sure. It IS NOT a bump stock. All stocks are not bump stocks that's absolutely ludicrous.

It's very easy to bump fire an AR-15 from the hip. Using one hand, hold the index finger firmly in place within the trigger guard. Using the other hand, apply a light but firm force forward until the trigger is depressed and a round is fired. The firing of the round will force the gun backwards, then the forward force upon the fore end will return the gun forward after each shot, once again applying pressure on the trigger with the index finger of the other hand and firing another round. This process will theoretically repeat until the ammo in the magazine is depleted. Therefore, I petition for the banning of fingers and/or hands.

Any elected official who willingly displays this amount of confidence while being verifiably wrong and attempts to introduce legislation based on that willful ignorance,should not be allowed to hold any public office from that point forward. ...nor should they be allowed near sharp objects.
