June, 2015, performance of Thomas Stevens’ “Triangles (I)” at The Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale, New Hampshire. Performed by Gabriele Cassone, Thomas Stevens, and John Wallace, Trumpets.
About the “Triangles”:
"....writers (musician critics) who, having played the trumpet too much, have taken to gobbling like turkeys."-Pierre Boulez, answering some of the critics of his music ("Dix ans après"-1963). This quote was a source of inspiration for the Triangles series, and although the pieces are not program music, but rather music about space and timbre, the sonic images of Pierre's turkeys are always lurking about"-Thomas Stevens.
