Peter Sam actually has five more siblings! Three on the Burma Mines Railway, a sibling called Stanhope from the Apedale Valley Light Railway and No.7 on the Corris Railway. Sir Handel also technically has one more new sibling, No.10, that's currently being built on the Corris Railway. They may not be canon to the rws, but it's interesting to note.

Fun fact, Dolgoch/Rheneas are the Class Bb, and skarloey/Tal-y-lynn started out as the Class A, but were rebuilt into a Class C, there not fully "Oneoffs" you where able to buy there Class, it's just, no one else decided to buy the Class A-C 🤷‍♂️

This...was... a LOT to take in!! Aside of being built by the same company, I was always curious on how Skarloey & Rheneas were related. I thought it'd had something to do with their configuration. Before Skarloey gained trailing wheels, both were 0-4-0 engines. If Peter Sam was built by the same company as Luke & if the Kerr Stuart company is located in Ireland, then...shouldn't Peter Sam have an Irish accent? Standard gauge cousins are insane! I mean, with Captain Baxter I understand since he too is a 0-4-0 engine like Rheneas & Skarloey (before he got trailing wheels). But Rusty's standard gauge cousin being Salty? And Duncan's standard gauge cousin is SAMSON?! SPEAKING of Duncan...Where do I even start?... His diesel cousins surprised me! I know we covered the diesel cousins in the last video with the Bullied family. But with Alf & Fred, I thought Hunslet was the company name. So does that make Hunslet the middle initial? Wow this was the best timeline video yet! There were so many things I did not expect like Captain Baxter being related to Skarloey and Rheneas, and the same thing with Samson to Duncan and surprisingly Fred. And I had no idea Peter Sam and Luke were related in a way. Also I thought Mighty Mac's class what's designed by Robert fairlie which also has a nice ring to it but I guess there's something I must be missing. Also I do believe Smudger is real if anything I think him along with Stanley can coexist. Either way this was a fun video keep up the good work Adam!

Iirc, the og smudger was a 10-12D? Which means he would have been an american built ww1 trench engine! Audry actually did have smudger as a us trench engine on his layout that rode rough due to having a cruddy kitbashed wheelbase, so that'd explain why he ran rough not only in model form but in stories too. That'd also explain the accent. And iirc, they weren't able to make a 10-12 in time for the show, so we get the green *boah* 😅

The only issue I have with these family trees is that since Mighty and Mac are separate characters who are cajoined twins, they should be Mighty Spooner and Mac Spooner respectively.

Love the video. Can't wait to see more Thomas family trees. A couple of things: if the engines were seen in the show or books. They're considered semi-canon. Also, Luke technically has another sibling, by the name, Peter Pan. Which was Luke's basis.

Well, Dolgoch and Talyllyn irl have a another cousin in Australia named Ballarat, built to a gauge of 3ft 6in. Although not built by Fletcher, Jennings & Co., it´s design is similar if not identical to Dolgoch. So, yeah, cousin from Victoria Foundry that lives in the land down under that is related somewhat to Dolgoch.

I think the reason why Smudger has an american accent is because Stanley (the mid sodor's number 2) was an american engine that got re-gauged into narrow gauged, but not properly, which made him a rough rider

My explanation for Smudger having an American accent is that his driver was American in some way… (to be fair I’m sure some engineers immigrated to the UK)

Smudger probably gets hated because he replaced Stanley. Yet believe it or not, he could fit in the RWS, as Falcon came to the MSR BEFORE Stanley. Plus, Sodor: Reading Between the Lines, revealed he was a replacement for another engine. As for why Stanley would've been behind the shed after he first became a pumping engine, that could be due to Smudger being out of order, and once he was running again, Stanley was moved to the mine. Also, Jennings' model is still around, just painted red and now a spare engine.

Actually, Duncan had one more sibling like douglas. There were two engines built including douglas, which worked with RAF, but were later almost sold to India's copper mines... But did not meet their expectations... So, you'll have to add that sibling too.

I personally do believe that Skarloey and Rheneas are indeed siblings instead of cousins. One, I don't really think Awdry referred Rheneas to Skarloey's brother figuratively, considering that he was writing a children's book and referring a character to someone's "sibling" figuratively would add to the confusion of the young readers. Two, there are instances in the Thomas franchise where engines of different classes designed by the same person are siblings (Gordon & Flying Scotsman). As to you wondering why Skarloey, Rheneas, Talyllyn and Dolgoch aren't quadruplets, in the past I actually assumed that Skarloey and Rheneas were fraternal twins😂, before learning that they were built in different years. My personal headcanons on the narrow gauge engines’ full names : 1. Skarloey Fletcher 2. Rheneas Fletcher 3. Sir Handel Falcon Hughes (his original name becomes his middle name) 4.
