These are a hidden gem. For some reason these are the best for the soils/gravels around Randsburg and the El Paso’s

Is the motor permanently attached to the lower legs? Reason I ask is some places I go don't allow anything motorized so I'd want the hand crank only.
@heartofgoldminer22196 жыл бұрын
The motor is permanently attached but each unit ALSO has the hand crank

I bought a Thompson drywasher and was able to find gold, however, the screen allows too large a particle through so that the riffles become overloaded and gold flows out over the top: also the angle of the riffle box and grizzly are not adjustable . Despite those faults it excels at being lightweight and is well built. Modifying this drywasher was too difficult, and I sold it. I would buy another Thompson if different size screens were available that could be easily installed on the grizzly , and if the legs could adjust for the angle of the riffle box.

Really? You had coarse heavy shot in the 3 &/or 4th riffle and it didn't run but a minute after their intro. Wow At that rate they would be out of the box by the time you ran one 5 gal bucket. Sorry Bill but you should re shoot this video to show better than that. Perhaps the ROUND shot bounced further down the tray upon initial entry? Not likely. The time they stay in the first riffle may be too short and they are not settled in so they get pushed over with more feed-flow. And your demo used pretty uniform sand not the hopper screened mix of sizes naturally occurring. If that is the case then a more flat profile for the tray is suggested??? Besides, as you demonstrated, it is so much easier to achieve fluidization with smaller sand, avoiding the more violent means to just move big rocks and avoiding the tray eddies that such rocks create too! Puffers give such uniformly smooth riffle trays too. Your results were surprising. I often wonder why ALL drywashers have such length and why gold ever gets to the last few riffles? I think that its due to poor fluidization (sink vs float) and not enough residence time in each section to sink down? Maybe running the puffing at higher speed might help keep up with the higher feed rate? That gives more processing in each section before getting pushed downhill. Puffers do work, and very well, when the feed is slow and the puffing rate higher. Questions: For such finer sand, can you change the length of the arm to give a shorter, more frequent puff? What is the current maximum rate of puff? Sorry Bill, I don't mean to be harshly critical, but we have to be observant and try to remedy these less that desirable results. So please take these comments constructively. Please consider re-shooting the video.
