You can buy a .25acp that's smaller and shoots the exact same ammo. Nothing amazing here, Open bolt machine guns are extremely simple guns. Not much more than a bolt reciprocating inside the upper receiver.

The full auto ones like this would have to have been manufactured before 1986 and you’d have to find a private collector. I think rock island auctions had one for about 10k recently. But if you’re going to go to the trouble of buying a select fire weapon you may as well get one that’s actually useful as a weapon.

In the 70's there was a Company making half scale Thompsons, I think they were in Farmington, still an NFA Firearm, those had Drums but only the Stick mags they made were functional, I remember them being featured in Guns & Ammo.

Governments trying to make a digital money system where they decide if you can spend money on something or not.... So do you need it cause they'd probably say no. Probably say no to alot of stuff even thier supporters would want to buy. Anything that's a want and not a need probably wouldn't be approved.

What a fun thing. I'm guessing the ammo is extra expensive! I was trying to identify it as 22. LR or 22. short. Turns out it is neither but special purpose built ammo!!

If i remember correctly, i contacted these guys seriously for a quote to purchase a mini ak47 and they quoted me, i kid you not... $40,000!!!! For a f****** toy!!! Very cool toy, and i was ready to pay maybe $1000, but when they told me the price i almost cried with laughter

Look on the ATF website, and you can probably figure out what it takes to own an automatic weapon. Hickock45 occasionally has people bring their toys in and stand out of camera while he shoots them. I believe he, or at least his son, has a license, as he was firing a fully auto AK-47 and an M-16 recently, and mentioned that one or both of them owned these weapons.
