I agree with Andy and Nick on this one. Where Greg felt like he was bored during Thor I felt that way for Hulk. I feel Hulk is so much more of a drag and not one character has chemistry with the other where as Thor did. The comedy is a lot better in Thor as well so I would put Thor above Hulk. Just my opinion 😉

I definitely differ from these guys. I think Thor is a pretty good movie. I'll agree that Thor's friends are weak and remain weak throughout the movie. I'll agree that the town seemed empty and completely lifeless, but besides that there was a lot of interesting stuff as far as characters were concerned. I was a lot more invested in Loki/Thor/Oden's relationship than Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange was good right up until he got his powers than it felt like a run of the mill marvel movie after that. When they actually take time to develop flawed characters I find it a lot more interesting than the fluff fights that don't really even get a reaction anymore unless they're done extraordinarily well.

Also to help with your understanding of the ending. Loki falls through the bifrost right before it closes and finds himself in the presence of The Other and Thanos. The post credit scene, we can assume Loki already has the staff because the plot of Avengers is Thanos giving Loki an Infinity Stone (the staff) to help him take over Earth in the hopes that Loki will bring him back the Tesseract (infinity stone).

Tim you forgot about Sitwell's first appearance in the Marvel movies. He was one of the Hydra agents in Captain America: Winter Solider. He was the guy Captain America went to rescue in the opening scene of Winter Solider.

The hammer thing, Thor, by sacrificing himself for his freinds became worthy of mulnier. Odin has the power of sight and was watching the events unfold. Not that hard.

Wouldn't the bad guy in Thor be Odin. He kidnaps Loki as a frost-giant child, lies to him about being his dad and treats him like a second banana to Thor. Then, after years of building his son's ego, he takes away his pride and joy's powers and banishes him to a world of primitives, just to teach him a lesson. He then slips into a coma letting all the terrible things happen.

Have to say I actually loved Thor and felt it did a fantastic job introducing a character that was so out there in terms of set up. It had really funny bits in it, some great acting, and still the best villain role in the MCU (though that isn’t saying much...)

You guys didn't talk about Kat dennings, the best thing about the Thor movie. Anyway, love the review, can't wait for the First Avenger review. That's one of my favorite MCU movies, specially the first part of the movie. It absolutely nails who Cap is and represents.

Thor definitely is above hulk. Hulk was decent but it just feels like it's missing something. It doesn't have that something special that every other MCU film does.

It was weird seeing Loki use frost powers, cause we've never seen him do it again.

I am soooo excited for next weeks episode. The Captain America trilogy is the best and I think The First Avenger is HIGHLY underrated. It's one of my favorites in the MCU. Hope the guys enjoy it as much as I do. As for what I think about Thor? Slightly underrated. If I'm ranking these by enjoyment factor it goes right between Hulk and Iron Man 2. I absolutely loved Loki in this. His motivations are so complex. He loved his family. He loved his father and he trusted his brother. After finding out he's a Frost Giant, Loki just wanted answers. Sure he was mad, but he never wanted revenge and he never rejected his Asgardian upbringing and sided with the Frost Giants. His plan was always to protect Asgard and win his father's approval. Loki didn't want to be a tyrant. He just wanted to be king because he legitimately thinks he is the most qualified for the job.

The "Every Frame a Painting" video on Marvel Soundtracks I think speaks to part of the problem with this movie. I wonder how much a quality unique soundtrack could have made. Even Greg talks about wanting to hear Immigrant Song throughout this one.
