Due to an enchantment Thor unknowingly placed on it years earlier to protect Jane Foster, Mjolnir reforges and bonds itself to her. Thor arrives in New Asgard just as Gorr uses the Necrosword to swarm the city with shadow monsters. Thor is surprised to find his ex-girlfriend wielding his ex-hammer, Mjolnir, but teams up with her, King Valkyrie, and Korg to fight Gorr.

It's interesting that thor was jelly of Mjolnir, and yet the whole movie was about the fact that stormbringer was OP and the bad guy wanted it for it's dimensional hopping powers. Not to mention the fact stormbringer tanked a shot from all six stones at the end of infinity war like it was nothing.

It was more like a failed comedy. This movie would have been much better if had a more serious tone. Bad jokes also took away from the action sequences.

Maybe, cause their both made of Uru metal, maybe Stormbringer can. But like Jane nor Thor has any beef with Wanda, and are irrelevant to her’s and Dr. Strange’s story. Also, Thor and Jane both hold the power of Thor but probably are smart enough to know Wanda is powerful enough to kill Gods. Plus she was already Scarlet Witch powered up by the start of Wandavision.😄

At 2:10, there's a dude just swinging at literally nothing and again at 2:21 and at 2:23, there's a dude blocking nothing. They forgot to cg the monsters. Just another major issue with this film. This whole scene was cringy. The town is being attacked by monsters. Buildings are burning, but what's more interesting to Thor is Jane wielding Mjolnir.

Thor has been turned into a sideshow slapstick 3 stooges parody and no longer regarded as being serious. Waititi destroyed the Hulk and Thor, two of the regarded most powerful avengers. it became so bad that they could have left them out of End Game and they would not have been missed. the franchise has been destroyed due to the competition to simply get as many wisecracking gags and comebacks in a scene as possible, same with Guardians of the galaxy. It why I stopped watching them. Only thing missing now is the canned laughter tracks…and they actually had that in Wandavision….Marvel are now scrambling to salvage the franchise as they have tanked and so expect Captain America and Ironman to return. They had to enter-twine the multiverse now to explain why they can bring back Robert Downey jr who will command a fortune to save the franchise.

Haven't seen the movie, but have been checking out these clips. It seems like every bad-ass moment (mjolnir coming apart and reassembling, for instance) if followed by an over-the-top corny attempt at humor, ruining what came just before it. Is the whole movie this way? I need someone to do a super-cut of all the awesome moments with all of the "humor" removed.

Thor at this point is supposed to possess the odinforce since he becomes the all-father when Odin dies. Much like how Odin had complete control over who could wield mjolnir in the first Thor film, Thor at this point should also have complete control over mjolnir in this one. Plus the acting and reactions are just horrendous. Like, this is supposed to be a monumental reunion and the whole scene is treated like a throwaway gag.

@@snap-n-shoot In the comics it's been wielded by both of those people though. There's a rather large roster of people in the comicbook canon who have wielded mjolnir. Captain America, Jane Foster, Beta Ray Bill, Squirrel Girl, Black Panther, Eddie Brock, just to name a few. Hell, even Throg (literally a frog) became worthy.
