What's the 44 Club you may ask? Gaunson's lightning bolt comment is actually very insightful! The shape of a lightning bolt comes from the distribution of conducting particles in the atmosphere- the path of the bolt follows the path where these particles are concentrated. This would follow a similar pattern to the distribution of impurities in the polycarbonate glass- which is where the path of the cracks in the material on impact would be directed!

The rotation of the lawnmower blades would not cause as much damage as you may think... the force of dropping greatly outweighs the torque and speed of the blades. Result wouldnt be as exciting

To the people complaining about the 'click bait' of the thumbnail. Well if you are new to these guys i get your point. It does kinda make you think they have a HUGE ass hammer. But these guy are very nearly cartoons in and of themselves. I have to admit ive watched MANY of their videos and was taken in for a few moments thinking that maybe they had a giant hammer made. Its a rather small point to quibble over though. They promise mindless juvenile fun and they deliver it at a professional level. Enjoy.

That's a fair point but every drop they do has a base of sand so the test is even throughout. Not perfect but consistent.

You do know that the kinetic energy transferred to the sand prevented the hammer from entering the void. Brace the Base (tee shirt idea?) and the results will vary. I would think 1/4 steel....

Id like to see this again but with the table on something harder than sand... the table was pushed into the sand, which absorbed the impact.. What would it have done if the impact wasnt absorbed?
