All of the “hot tub stuff” is actually very important. It tells us that Thor learns about the infinity stones, and he has premonitions for the destruction of Asgard! He also finds out that someone is trying to collect the infinity stones and it ends with him going on a quest to find out more about the infinity stones and what’s coming. This detail is probably the most important to know about Thor before seeing Ragnarok and I cannot believe u glossed over it.

Everything you explained was amazing, besides one tiny detail. You shouldn't have mentioned that Doctor Strange has a small part in Ragnarok. That thing was actually a spoiler and I kind of regret knowing it, just 2 hours before I watch the Ragnarok.

@@thepaperninja3123 What We Do In The Shadows (the movie) is really awesome and funny. The show is good too but he only produces it. Hunt for the Wilderpeople is another good movie of his. One super random project I enjoyed during lockdown was when he assembled a ton of celebrities to read "James and the Giant Peach". He's a wacky guy.

I just rewatched the Ragnarok, expecting the next Thor to come in a week, and had some questions left regarding the before-movie events. Thanks for this recap, it helped me to answer those questions without actually watching all the past movies again (they weren't that great, imo). Also, the way you put it all together, all the jokes are hilarious. I hope to stumble upon this channel next time I am looking for a recap

Cool story bro, but you've missed out one key point. In the first Thor movie, when Odin banishes Thor to earth, he opens the byfrost with his staff, and NOT with Heimdal's sword. Hold on to that piece of information, then go watch Thor Ragnarok, then come back to it and see a massive plot hole involving Hela, Heimdal and the sword. 😀

Well, that was enjoyable. Is it my imagination, or was that Jennifer Hale(The FemShep saviour of the galaxy herself!) doing the narration that started around 5:20 in the video? If not, she may be a long lost twin sister with those identical vocals. Hey, if you can LOOK like a twin, why can’t you Sound like one(who needs DNA. She SOUNDS identical. That counts right ? 🤔).

Well, Thor Ragnarok barely cares about the previous movies. They rush the story so they can get to Sakaar. SPOILERS they kill Thor's friends quickly and Lady Sif it's not even in the movie END OF SPOILERS I thought these movies were made to geeks that like continuity. If it isn't so, why bother invest in any of the characters at all? If Taika can't integrate previous established characters in his story, maybe he isn't that good of a storyteller.

dimitreze Taika proved to be an awful storyteller and a good businessesman. He realized that Thor isn't deep at all so instead of giving him personality he made him too funny: too much. Same for Loki: it takes literally 5 minutes to untie the story of how he took over Asgard. What a lazy writing...

It was a studio decision to softly reboot the character because he had the charisma of a wet sock. They took in Taika to invigorate a different angle on the character and to embrace the bizarre environmental origins from the comic books. Killing the other known characters and leaving Jane out of it, who all had even less charisma than a wet sock, was necessary for revitalizing the franchise for it not to end up like the last iron man movies.

Hela is hella fine. We find out more about her. She’s Thor’s sister. We see more of Hulk. Thor gets electrocuted but yet he’s god of thunder? Lol Thor looses an eye. Big demon Surtur is unleashed and kills Hela.
