Such a baller move by Thornhill. TDP was widely acclaimed, yet they still went for a different direction. Still the same "floating" experience while listening to these new tracks and in my opinion, very cinematic for some reason. Well done Thornhill.

Thornhill played the entirety of this album in Sydney about a month or 2 ago and I really wish that every person who graces their ears with this album could have seen the performance they gave and the Q&A that followed. Jacob has dramatically improved with his voice - a song like ‘Valentine’ might strike the thornhill fan base as a total “wtf” moment but when Jacob sang that song, high sections and all - along with the bands ability to create such powerful dynamics on stage that I feel you only really get when listening through a solid pair of head phones - it was a truly mesmerising and euphoric/ethereal experience. Fun Fact: In the Q&A I asked what artists they looked to for influence and what aspects of their music did you implement into your own - I was super shocked to hear some of the responses such as Jacob being heavily influenced by Gwen Stefani during the writing of Heroine. All in all - this band has really grown in such a unique and mature way - call it what you want, but truly appreciate it for the album it is. I’m so proud of these guys ❤

This album is a masterpiece. Very SEXY indeed (until Thornhill I didn't know metal could even be "sexy" lmfao), very groovy and still a total banger. Love the production. It gives a dreamy vibe to the songs, it's unbelievable. I agree with you, Blue Velvet, Arkangel, Casanova, Hollywood, Raw and Heroine... that's to say the "quasi" entierety of the album... are the sexiest songs... :D And Something Terrible Came With The Rain is THE true gem of this record. Certainly the best album of the year

Very divisive album, but I thought it was really good on my first listen. Kind of like "I Let It In and It Took Everything" by Loathe, you can hear some obvious influences, but they utilize them in ways that still make the sound of this album very diverse and unique. But, Honestly... I've come to love this just as much as I loved TDP... I'm personally love this album and every song on it. These guys and Loathe are literally resurrected those spirit behind Deftones music that was lost somewhere in 2012, but in totally new modern incarnation. I really hope that one day they will get more famous and will push for European tour.

From the first couple of listens it turned out I literally liked only all even tracks, but watching this video I think it will be more of them to be liked it's strange but for me this album has 60s-80s psychodelic vibes a bit. Remembering this, especially 'Hollywood', I imagine myself standing/dancing in the midst of garlands and flickering lamps, breathing the iridescent dust of oblivion, which is soaring in the air

This album really blew me away, to be honest. I wasn't huge on "Casanova" the first time I heard it, and I generally enjoyed "Arkangel" but didn't view it as comparable to any songs from "The Dark Pool". But in context of the album? Wow, both songs ended up clicking for me. The concept of twisted love on this album works well, and I love how the band explores it in almost every song. I think "Blue Velvet" and "Hollywood" are probably my favorites, both masterworks in their own right. I'll have to give it more listens before I can say this with confidence, but this might be my favorite album of the year so far. This comes way closer to "The Dark Pool" than I was expecting. The change in sound really worked for me, and I think I can say that confidently with especially my opinion on "Casanova" having such a huge turnaround.

This has got to be the best way to put how a lot of us feel. TDP was amazing, but I am so glad that they gave us this album too

this album was fairly hit and miss for me, while it had its bangers like leather wings, hollywood, blue velvet, arkangel, cassanova. I just didn't get into it as much as the dark pool. Though its not a bad album, i didn't like it as much. Though it is very commendable that they experimented with the sound so I'm glad they did.
