I put this on 05 5.9 it’s not easier to take the bed off . You can just t Roll your and over a little bit and you see what your doing. Iam 66 years old and did it in my garage by my self and mines been few years don’t rennet the year . I put a gauge for fuel pressure and that when I found out I only 5 psi and the Fleece puts out 21 psi and hard pull up hill with camper 18-19 psi that kit is different from mine I didn’t get big hose kit .What I like about this pump one plugs into factory harness and the other pump you turn a cable to fuse and has a inline fuse and relay the cool part if one pump goes out you will still the other pump because you will 10-11 psi on one and make sure the your float is set just like the factory float or it will be off jus set them did by side and make match and you will be good. It’s been great no problems at all.

And to make it easier just rotate the tank and you can see what your doing and helps a bunch for me any way and set you new pump and to your old pump and make sure they are the or you may have to bend the float a little. And do not bend it in a way you break the plastic where arm hooks on. Mine was off and had to take it apart and adjust the arm it would stay on full for ever then go to a half a tank when look at it , so set the side by side and adjust it, because it will be off! I guess shipping throws it around . Great kit and pump !

Like the filter housing with the sensor ports on both sides of the filter, the black anodized fittings, the black Continental fuel line. Wish manufactures would stop with the janky inline fuse for the relay. I cut that mess off and install a relay with an integrated fuse holder, which also allows removal of the excess wire. Almost 1k for the system... That's a rather large pill to swallow, but I do like keeping stock appearances, and I know Fleece is quality.

The cost is higher until you consider that it also fixes the fuel level issue which typically runs around $200 as well. And lets just be honest very few VP trucks have a functioning fuel gauge at this point.

I have a1999 ram 3500, Is the old harness running to the fuel sending unit used to power this unit, it has blue, blue blk, green and black wires on it. Reason I ask is because my lift pump is by the block so I don’t have power running in the green wire to the old sending unit. I’d like to know if new harness with kit takes care of that or if I have to rewire what I have? I’m in the market for a new setup as we speak because I’m having fuel pressure problems

How do test/read fuel pressure the stock filter housing had a Schrader valve. Also, is there an adapter so that the Edge juice with attitude can connect back to VP44 return? This was replaced in the fleece install.

Schrader valve would need a fuel pressure gauge that accepts a Schrader valve which there are several (hand held test gauges). You don’t want the pressure gauge on return side with a VP44, you want it on pressure side. My suggestion to get rid of the Schrader is to buy a pre tapped 1/8 27 npt tapped banjo bolt that will accept most types of fuel pressure test and gauge fittings.

Hi my question is I have put a second gen in a 06 3 gen place done the stand alone harness I built pump in tank my self it’s got 70 pound pressure do I need to shut the pump down while cranking it then turn the pressure to it

What did you do with the factory fuel delivery line? And I was told with Glow Shift gages you have to use a banjo bolt and snubber. So would I move the snubber to the sensor port on the Fleece filter housing? Or is it no longer needed? Installing tomorrow.

We always suggest the use of a snubber to protect your fuel pressure gauge.

Is it possible/recommended to remove the water in fuel sensor from the stock filter housing and thread into the new fleece filter housing in one of the sensor ports? If so, would the stock wiring harness reach up to the new location? If not, is it safe to run with no water in fuel sensor?

Maybe you already figured this out but it's possible. However as the kit comes you can't use the wif sensor. Would need to run a jumper and use the rear sensor port closest to the firewall. The injector lines sit too close to the front sensor port so it won't fit there.

The early style filter won't tell you weather you have the block or tank LP. What you will want to do is look directly below your fuel filter canister and make sure that you lift pump is still on the block. Also, check to make sure that the power is still hooked to it. If the LP is not there or the power to the LP is unhooked, good chance that it has been converted to a in tank pump.

Great product, the one major issue I have run into is the two small sensor ports if they are not being used and you install the two small 1/8 male thread plugs. They leak. I have tried putting thread sealer and anything I do it leaks.

I bought my 99 ram used and it came with a raptor lift pump. Recently the truck runs and idles rough and blows white smoke. Got it checked and mechanic told me lift pump is going out and truck isn't getting correct amount of fuel, would this fleece lift pump replace my raptor pump? Was also thinking of putting a regular airdog lift pump on as well. But this unit looks more durable plus has the advantages of reading correct amount of fuel.

The Fleece would be a replacement for your current lift pump. This kit comes with a replacement filter and all the line to get you from the tank to the injection pump.

What did you do with the WIF connection and did you remove the Fuel Heater relay? I don't think I want that relay trying to send power to nowhere. Thanks!

When you remove the stock bowl, you don’t get any WIF lights or completion of the current sent to the heater because it isn't in play. All good.

Pump on the side of the block can be left there. Just disconnect the power from it, and connect it to the harness.

I left the one on this truck in place. I just cleared the original lines of fuel. If you are looking for an upgraded lift pump for your truck and you are having a fuel gauge problem this would be a great choice.

The G&R wont do air removal like the FASS, that’s probably the only difference in the two.

I have this in tank pump from Fleece and I am seeing 21 psi at idle and 17 - 18 under hard pull far as adjusting the psi I don’t remember and I got this as soon as it came and my filters are kit that use the rear bolts from front seat comes as a kit with 2 large filters . The first one is a large Baldwin water separator with drain the next filter is a cat at 2 micron filter and the factory filter on motor I use a Baldwin filter that’s 5 micron so that’s what’s on my 05 dullay. Hope this helps .

What psi do you get with this? At idle, full throttle, cruising at 2k rpm? Could you guys do a video driving with a shot of the tach and speedo and shot of a pressure gauge all in the same shot?

At idle, it will be around ~16 psi. Full throttle will vary based on each truck's setup, but you can expect to see something in the ~12 psi range.

My Fuel Lab pump runs 9 PSI at idle pre filters and 7.5 PSI post filters. The biggest hills I have done my drop the pressure down a pound? Very happy with it!

Just wanted to see if you can tell if the VP44 is bad. I got fuel and about 3 miles down the road my truck just shut off. It was actually starving for fuel. I have plenty of fuel in filter housing and fuel will squirt from shredder valve on VP44. I'm trying to figure out if injection pump is bad.

Ever figure it out? Mine just quit yesterday 😒 pulled out of McDonald’s and it died. Managed to get pulled over, attempted start with no success, sounded like it had a lot of air in it. Cycled the key, DTC’s 1693, 1688 😬, and 0254. Bumped starter, fuel gauge showed approx 12-13psi, checked schrader valve on filter housing then VP, both had fuel and no signs of air but flow seemed weaker than previous times. Bumped starter, cracked return line on vp, nothing. Kept messing with it for a while cracking 1,3, and 4 with different combinations of anything you could think of. Never got more than just a little moisture at the washer on the banjo bolt from the return fitting on the VP and never had any diesel the injectors. 10 minutes in my lift pump took a dump. Had it towed home, found out how bad the 1688 code is and here I am, hunting for a new VP and lift pump.

No, this will not work for a P pump truck. They require higher pressure.

A FASS is a lift pump, just like this is a lift pump as well. If your truck has a externally mounted pump like a AIrdog or a FASS, this is not needed for those to operate correctly.

I’ve changed the filters on my fass, the filter on the fuel bowl and I open the lines to get the air out and nothing with come out. What could it be. Thanks

the pump setup looks nice, but what an electrical cluster fk! The trucks have a factory 20a circuit already going back to to the tank, the ECM just never pulls the relay coil to ground

@@walterk1221 on an oddball irrigation motor, that had problems with fuel too cold, we just put plumbers heat tape on filter bowl and wrapped it 4 wraps or so. Wired it ti a manual switch so i can flip it on in winter and off in summer. Has solved issue and worked well. Just a thought.
