I took that other road many years ago, when I was about 20. I obstinately followed that path of self-discovery. Now I'm an old man, changing again as I've learned to do. Throughout my adult life, right up to this very day, I mostly did those things that 'I' wanted to do, not those things other people thought I 'should' do. I can't say I've not conformed to some degree during all this time. I've honestly paid my taxes. I've lived many of my dreams, climbed many mountains, crossed oceans chasing elusive love and fervent nature. I was a lonely shepherd, here in these wild and tall mountains, for thirty years, but now I've let my herd go, my last working dog has died, and I'm following this other segment of a satisfying and challenging passage on my own. These past ten years (since I gave up shepherding) I've continued to live simply and mostly what others would consider poor, as money was seldom what motivated me. Being a 'seeker' for so many years, I realized long ago that living in this 'closer to the earth' way, was and is where I truly belong. I'm an old hermit now, no longer having my goats and dogs to keep me company, still living in my old secluded log cabin here in this small, quiet, mountain village. Mostly I garden, write poetry (my poetry blog JoeC's blog spot, I think I've posted about 236 of my poems there to date), study plants and herbs, practice herbal medicine. Solitude and meditation (often deep in the back of a cave at a nearby hot springs where I sweat, say prayers and try talking to the Creator) are second nature to me now. At this point in my life I'm fortunate enough to enjoy photography, compose music, write poetry, grow my wonderful garden, consume mostly home-grown food, all at the foot of this 9000 ft., most often snow covered peak. I suppose I am an anomaly, but there are other hermits secluded not too far away in the forest here too. Uniqueness is not a human quality. Similarity keeps us connected even when the thread is short and thin. I wake up each and everyday, always thinking, "Thank God I live here". Not once have i ever thought these things I do, those things I have done here, were a mistake. Just because I'm relatively 'money' poor (much less annual cash than poverty level for this country), but in reality I feel so damn wealthy. I've been one of the lucky ones I suppose. I can honestly say I shant die regretting my life. I go out in the early morning, listen to the birds, watch the clouds and sunrise, listen to the breeze and its sibling the wind, I regularly watch the stars and the moon (the nearest town and city are many miles away, so the sky remains in a more natural state here), I sleep and eat when my body tells me to, I do what I am motivated to do and do what I want. Freedom is my second name. Freedom being that thing I've held dear all of my adult life. Of course there are other choices people can wisely make, they'll still climb mountains and wake up being grateful in the morning. Still, for me, this was a good choice, in fact a wonderful choice. If I'm lucky I'll get to enjoy many more years of living here on this amazing planet. Jim, you were a Canadian once, as am I. I see you as one of those exceptional people. Thank you for all you have done, and all that you have shared over so many years. I remember when you first reached notoriety. You telling the world, in some documentary or interview, how you were always the class clown. You've made me laugh so very often. You've entertained the world, or at least a large portion of it. We can't laugh enough in this life. Your words and thoughts now seem so compassionate and helpful. Thank you for that. Cheers and best wishes!

Sounds like the perfect life, I've had so many wake up moments I can't keep track. What I thought was normal healthy and wise near killed me. The city house, the wife, the kids. The job working to help others overcome their problems. Stripping away the layers of conditioning and what I called to myself. Cleaning up my self made mess, just to create another. I was so lonely and always finding that strange kind of love outside myself. Now it seems like there's no place to be alone I'm still waking up to new parts of myself and yes I'm a old guy now. Still seeking and so very grateful for mess called my life. I guess when I learn to cleanup my own, I can lend my thoughts to those who are looking to leave the mess their in. City suberbs walking towards that beautiful place called nature. May all of Creation serve you well!

@@jamiemadison8082 Actually life can be anything you want. Your mind is your own limitation. I used to think that way, work so much in own business that only gave time for sleep, no time to even grocery shop. (No food ever in fridge). So vacation time didn’t happen very often. I now have changed my focus on PEACE. Inner peace, less stress. It was only stressful because I told myself it was. Every time the phone would ring I would cringe. I now let the voicemail get it and deleted the stress. The husband planned a vacation at the most busy time but it was for an event we did not want to miss, so their was no changing the date. (2 weeks ago) I had to keep telling myself, "No, I deserve a vacation just like everyone else, it will be ok". And you know what, it was ok. (The business is still ok). The secret to life is changing your subconsciousness. You have to tell yourself things long enough so it sinks into your subconscious and become second nature. That is how to change oneself. And your outlook on life. I have been studying for a year Neville Goddard. And Florence shovel shin. My favorite on KZfaq is Lila, she reads their books, and goes under the name Nevillution. This is mostly what I focus on, mastering Meditation is my next goal, very hard to quiet my mind, it just keeps thinking about customers. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kJOJqc2pnqvaYqM.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9tdmNZn163Kf3k.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fsChfbtlsL23oZc.html

I wasn't sure where it came from but I've said that often after recently accepting that my parents are getting older and that I now have my own kids who will watch me get older. I want to show them in my final days that it is okay to die. Show them that if you have lived your happy life on your own terms, left no problems for others to deal with and have few regrets other than not having more time to see what your kids get up too once you are gone. Show them how to give their children the same example. We are more than our physical bodies and once our body can no longer hold the light inside it will let it go. If you have prepared for this journey by living a full happy life your next adventure will be better for it.

Most important thing I realized by listening to Alan Watts for around 5 years now is to stop searching. You are there already! You are exactly were you are supposed to be right now. Thinking about tomorrow is living in the future. Thinking about yesterday is living in the past. You have to let go of trying to control what happens to you. You can’t grab the water flowing in a river. It’s constantly moving and changing. Just swim with the flow. Enjoy every day and try to make it worth living. I’m 28 now and Alan Watts is my mentor. No living man gives me so much wisdom as he does through his audiobooks.

This is Jim carreys’ Realization that life is not as he once it was, that he is not who he once thought he was. It is his awakening to his true inner nature. He has realized that what he once thought of as the “ real” Jim Carrey, was in actuality a charicature and merely a figment of his imagination. He is attempting to point out to people that you are NOT the perception that other people have if you. That is merely the image you have projected in order to survive. It is the image that gets distorted as you age, by the toxic society we live in. People are so concerned with grit image, even though it is a false representation of who and what you are in a fundamental level. Who and what we truly are, exists in a deep soul level. Who we are in the spiritual realm is a being if energy that is connected through waves and frequencies that we can never begin to imagine. We are the universe, experiencing itself. That is the message Jim is attempting to convey to people.

Someone , also very deep but one who lived in obscurity, once told me to "Be very, very careful in choosing your teachers." This gentle friend of mine, so deep, so pure in heart, had chosen his Teacher carefully . He lived in Peace and when his life on Earth was over, he was in Peace. Very profound insight from Jim Carrey... "You're gonna have to have to kill who you really are and fall into your grave grasping onto a character that you never were"... Particularly applicable to those in the public eye, but not exclusively so. Most of us create some kind of persona for public consumption, whether it's for work or peer group acceptance or to gain materially in some way. All of us are performers at times. And if we take ourselves to be that persona, then we are truly lost. It's a luxury and a privilege to be free of the performing monkey and to be authentically one's self, and this luxury is actually available to everyone, it just requires a certain degree of genuine soul searching. Delving into the sense of 'I' with a commitment to discovering what that is regardless of hopes and fears. It's such a simple and basic investigation, that "who am I", but is largely overlooked as most people take for granted that they know who they are. i.e. the persona. But that is not the bottom line. Who or what we are is much simpler and yet much deeper than any 'personality'.

Pretty good definition of enlightenment. Graziano you are talking of the transformation aspect of it. Vob are presenting the connection/feeling aspect of it. I want to bring the unity aspect of it. metaphor: There are many different ways to get to the top of the mountain. And the closer you get to the top, the ways will look more and more a like. Literally: You can cut an onion and be enlightened. Honestly: Not even i know wtf i just wrote.

I think Jim Carrey has an incredible aura around himself, sort of like the sad clown. You know him as this joking guy that made you laugh in your childhood, but when he looks at you with those serious, deep eyes and that wrinkled face you start to question your previous judgement. In this sense, he really is a living performing artist. He himself is the piece of art that makes you think, reflect and let go of your inner dispositions. And when you come to that conclusion that even Jim Carrey is not Jim Carrey, you may start to ask the question: then who the fuck am I?

“Take a chance on being loved or hated for who you really are or you’re going to have to kill who you really are.” You have to love yourself and say it’s okay if you’re accepted by society- if they don’t accept you then you don’t need them in your life. This is your life, not anyone else’s. Let the toxic people fall away for they are only hurting you. I agree that people want too much to be accepted by the wrong people... take control of your life and stop letting others define you. The Ego loves to feed on insecurity and fear. Watch two Egos fight each other and you will understand how free you are.

Do you understand why this happened? Like when you think of an old friend and next thing you know they call you that day or soon after your thoughts. Deja vu for example, you feel like you just did this before but know you didn't, or you have so many deja vu that you start to see what's going to happen split seconds before it happens, like you having a dejavu of you and a friend having lunch and a coffee mug falls over but you know your friend is going to get cut when they pick up the pieces, and when they cut themselves you know you knew it before as you were having this same deja vu. So some people have deja vu in slow motion, where they get to see several seconds before, after many years of these they may be able to see hours, days or years ahead, I think you understand where I'm going with this, you knew this was going to happen when you had the thought of it, the thought came from TJ as he was manifesting this and thinking of his viewers while making it, the thoughts are energy that travelled directly to you as he was having them and putting it out there and you received it from his creation of this video and his thoughts of how you and others will like it or think or whatever his thoughts were as I'm not a mind reader but seems you are :) just joking, you are right where you belong and I hope you have Jesus in your Heart too. There is scripture about how our thoughts can have more power than our actions or works, I would say you really enjoy TJ's content and have a connection and genuine concern for his safety and this is why you received his thoughts of you and subs when making this video. Much Love and God Bless

The leaders of this world must speak the reality of our existence, which is far beyond everything we think we know. I think he suffered from internal turmoil, being insecure in himself and seeking an answer to life, the universe and everything, and chose to align himself to the Hindu religion called Advaita Vedanta...what westerners call NonDualism. Never clicked on a notification so fast lol. I'm one of TJOP's and Tragedy & Hope's (not sure if they are the same people) biggest fans and I have big plans for their deep powerful thought provoking videos. So its great to get notification of another upload after all this time. His videos always serve to provoke my thoughts and expand my thinking. This is a timely message in today's age where we are so bombarded by media and social media telling us how we should act and what we should conform to that we forget to be our true selves and be what we want to be and not what others want us to be. I love that quote by Robert Frost - ""Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one less traveled, and that has made all the difference" That is the story of my life, as I am sure is the case for many other people. And Robin Williams NAILED it at 3:44 - when you are being creative you are basically channeling Divine inspiration. R.I.P Robin Williams. Gone WAY too soon.

I absolutely agree with what you wrote. Just know that this TJOP's videos and Tragedy and Hope's videos are going to be exposed to billions of people in the not too distant future. It has to do with a a huge concert that I will be co-sponsoring in the not too distant future. I cannot talk about it now. Exciting stuff :)

I love that I can just day dream and use my imagination on an endless scale. Thinking of all these ideas and perceptions, thinking of new ways to imagine myself and the world around me. To these like myself who are spiritually aware thank you for taking the journey. It's a lonely one but it's all worth it in the end.

I’ve always liked Jim Carrey. When I was younger, I was wild and crazy; I loved characters like Ace Ventura, Stanley Ipkis, and Edward Nigma. I felt like I could relate to Jim Carrey and his energy in so many ways. Now I am finding myself listening to Alan Watts and Terence McKenna planning a trip to the Amazon to drink Ayahuasca, looking for answers. Giving up my ego and my perception of myself to free my mind and live a fuller, happier, more meaningful life. Then I stumble on this video and it seems Jim is again, very relatable. It’s only more evidence to me that shows we are all connected. Everything is connected to everything. If you look closely enough, you can see the signs. You can see the connections in the details. Open your mind to new experiences and thought and you will begin to put the pieces together.

The more powerful our grasp for spiritual awakening and healing, the further away it flies. If I gently open myself to the healing energies of the Universe/God, I set myself free from misery, live in the present... and find growth organically. x
