Definitely agree that soju isn’t really that toxic at all. Just a normal dude with normal frustrations but he doesn’t go overboard at all now. And he’s a great player

Soju is not toxic. He complains a lot but he is not being toxic. Got 15-20k viewers and rarely permaban someone. Takes all the hate non stop from his chat

I get what you mean but I don't really think banning people in chat has anything to do with being toxic. Being harsh with moderation can be a very important part of cultivating a healthy community

Reminds me of when I joined Magic the gathering arenas subreddit back when the game first came out. I was flodded with the hyper competitive control playing gatekeeping losers, and they flamed the hell out of me for asking simple beginner questions because it didn't align with their hyper competitive nature - and moreso because I was interested in a different playstyle. There are always going to be morons that hate new players unfortunately. What happens - at least from my experience - is that as the game grows, more casual players join and the toxicly competitive fucks gets drowned out

@simonnilsson8375 that's not what hate speech means. Just because you used the word incorrectly doesn't mean others aren't allowed to call you out on it. As for the post you mentioned, most comments were helpful to the OP and showed him how to do it and it wasn't downvoted either. He even posted 3 days later with a post about how he managed to get his first 3* 5 cost thanks to the advice given in the post.

I rather take toxic to the bone then brainless shills who dont have a unique thought in their head and constantly spread "positivity" even if things are bad. But yes he is not toxic at ALL. He reasonably complaints about things that are bad for the game and then backpeddals to not get canceled...Hes to nice to be toxic, unfortunatly.

Basically, you're most definitely part of the problem. The reason people hate toxic players is usually because they are toxic, DESPITE having shit opinions on the state of the game. And even when they're right, they don't make anything better. It's REALLY not that hard to be normal, positive, and call out bad game design. I'll take a positive, kind player who has no opinion on the state whatsoever as well, over a toxic dickbag who has an opinion, and is even right about it, because the former ones don't ruin games for others.

"toxic mentality" imo riot focuses way too much on it and it's a pain in the ass. i couldn't care less bout people being toxic. specially when they're all against me anyway. toxicity is a meme of a word now and i hate how much game devs (particularly riot) goes out of their way to address it.
