There’s a stinky reason tourists have been avoiding some beaches along South Australia’s south eastern coast.
After communities along the River Murray experienced the worst flooding in decades, millions of dead juvenile European carp and other fish typesw, have washed up along tourist hotspots, like Victor Harbor, and Goolwa.
On my visit today I can say that the stink along the entire beach had be dry reaching a couple of times.
The Primary Industries said the fish kills were related to low oxygen levels as the extreme flooding down the Darling and Murray river.
