Thousands of drivers mischarged on SR-125 South Bay toll road, lawsuit alleges

A former SANDAG executive alleges toll system errors on the South Bay Expressway and mishandling of customers’ toll service accounts in a lawsuit filed Friday by attorney Josh D. Gruenberg.
Lauren Warrem, former Director of Finance and Accounting at SANDAG, says she was fired in retaliation for concerns she was raising about systemic issues with the new toll operation system for the 10-mile stretch of State Route 125.
“At one point during a meeting, I had heard there were 3100 bugs identified in the system,” said Warrem.

Kudos to channel 8 for using footage from the actual area and toll booths. Channel 5 is using footage from Santee, where there's no toll.

They never told the truth about losing $1.2 million in revenue. They lied to the people. The manager of toll road operations, authorized the maintenance crew to gut other systems to keep more busy traffic pay points running. They also own a 20+ thousand dollar aerial drone that has been out of commission for years. why was something so expensive to be purchased if the cost was unrepairable.

we always pay the 125 cash and have still gotten toll violations in the mail

Using all quarters is usually fastest. However, I have had the machine skip-count and have to pay out $7 to $8 for the $4.50 toll a few times. Plus their card readers do not work very well (debit/credit pay).

@@Lightning613 Yeah, you can't go fast with electronic counters. It will take more that way. But electronic crap isn't all it's cracked up to be.
