It's wonderful to see Tom's passion for film and how he can't helo himself but ask the other massively talented writers about their opinion and process and it all comes from a place of genuine interest and curiosity.

that awkward moment when Tom Ford takes charge as the moderator... ...still some of the questions he asked the other writers were pretty interesting and gave us some insightful perspective into a writers mind.

Oh, that happens fairly often with roundtables, especially when the people at the table genuinely respect each other. I think that it's a good sign--it means that the people at the table are sufficiently comfortable that they start talking shop and asking each other questions: that's why it's set-up as a roundtable, and not just a panel. It I were the moderator, I would consider that a success.

Never knew this of Sheridan... The guy who was that cop i liked in SOA, turned out to be a screenwriter whos work i truly adore... Sicario is one of my favorite films and i loved Hell or High Water so much... He is going places, what a role model to aspiring writers!

I'm pretty sure that when Lonergan mentioned Proust, he meant his entire work and only piece of fiction, (In Search of Lost Time), one of the longest novels ever written, AND NOT BECKETT'S ESSAY

Sublime Trickaz It isn’t just one novel though. It’s like a series (6 or 7 parts I think). The first is pretty fucking boring, so I didn’t bother with the rest. Just because it describes and encompasses everything isn’t inherently worthy, it has to have the umph.

What a talented room! Loved Kenneth Lonergan's depressing Manchester by the Sea. Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals was crushingly sad and intense. Taylor Sheridan wrote such believable dialogue for Hell or High Water. Jackie & Hidden Figures were delightful. All breathes of fresh air in film!

He was the most invested in the whole interview, he respected every writer's opinion, listened carefully when they spoke, and asked real good questions. Such a gentleman! On the other hand, Galloway is being a complete unprofessional moron by constantly interrupting and looking utterly bored & uninterested in the whole thing.

The Video Annotations seem to suggest that Lonergan is talking about the Beckett essay but clearly he's talking about In Search of Lost Time, Proust's voluminous masterwork and using the author's name merely as synecdoche. Right? This seems like an obvious and embarrassing mistake for them to have made.
