Honestly nothing wrong with making the producers stress test their own work, especially with the knowledge that some of them are saboteurs/terrorists that are willing to cause "horrific accidents" out on the field.
@tilenzupancmusic22942 жыл бұрын
Exactly, i fully believe that in this instance, although, the show wanted to portray Thrawn as a ruthless person, he was completely in the right. The workers were supposed to be building safe and reliable vehicles, weapons and equipment, that is literally their job, which they get paid for. So if you are a good worker and a good citizen of the Empire or even some average-Joe who doesnt really care about the whole Empire vs. Rebels thing, you would be completely safe. idk why, but somehow it really infuriates me, that the Rebels tried to show this as Thrawn's evil moment, while in reality if viewed in any other kind of scenario, it would be a brilliant play to find/eliminate the saboteurs and thus there not being a need for more extreme measures (interrogation, more security and so on and so forth).

Rebels are filthy terrorists intent on keeping the galaxy in a constant state of chaos
@farseeraradrel48082 жыл бұрын
Well, we know the person he got killed were the saboteurs but did he? Like, even if the rebels had infiltrators in the facility, there was no telling the one joe who built the speeder or the walker were the actual saboteurs. I mean, it's not like sabotaging someone else's work was particularly complicated in the Imperial Academy which, Thrawn knows it well, is built on pushing your career to the detriment of others. These two may have been entirely innocent for what he knew, and I think that's where the show failed by having him being spot on. If the Rebels had killed two random joes because they underestimated Thrawn, his brutality would have been clear. Aside from that, it's still pretty immoral to quite readily execute your own workers, whilst you could simply demonstrate your sabotage and then imprison them (they might have something to say about the accomplices after all).
@commandergree61312 жыл бұрын
@@tilenzupancmusic2294 the thing is it doesn't match who he is as a character and makes no sense, Thrawn doesn't do things to assert fear like Tarkin, something Thrawn actually despised and why he held power through respect and trust. This is not saying that Thrawn did not kill but this scene, in particular, makes no sense to do so, he doesn't gain anything, it doesn't give him insight into who was behind the sabotage of the equipment which is the context of this scene. It merely scares the workers, something Tarkin would do.
@commandergree61312 жыл бұрын
@@farseeraradrel4808 I think that's why Rebels Thrawn at least in my opinion is so disconnected from Thrawn in the books, you don't see this kind of savage brutality from him, not to mention Thrawn only ends life when it has a benefit, ie a means to an end, what Thrawn did here was rather Tarkin-like something contradictory to his entire character.

To those of you remember when Thrawn was first introduced to the series, how Kallus said that the deaths of civilians far outweighed the death of the insurgents at Batonn- yeah that was 100% Pryce’s fault, 100% on purpose, but everything was so blown to bits that Thrawn and ISB couldn’t get a scrap of evidence against her. I mean to be fair the best way to defeat Thrawn is with the unexpected space whales are unexpected. Also according to the books the emperor was beginning to suspect Thrawns loyalty was really to the Chiss, which it was. So disappearing to some unknown region on a star destroyer with advanced navigation and shields with one of the last jedi in the galaxy, that can be delivered back to the Chiss is like Thrawns coup-de-grace.
